The upgrades will complement the enhanced Thales RBE2 active electronically-scanned array (AESA) radar which will allow the aircraft to deploy the MBDA Meteor Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM), along with improvements to the aircraft’s Thales SPECTRA self-defence system and Mode-5/Mode-S-compatible Identification Friend or Foe interrogator/transponder.

I don't think the sale would have gone through if Israel felt threatened by the future Egyptian rafales. Those aircrafts as the F16 before them will be flying objects with no teeth the minute they get to Israeli border. But it is very unlikely that Sissi is that dumb to try to find out.

No Muslim state is going to target Israel in an all-out war. Last time a few Arab countries tried it did not go well. If things had turned out differently during the 1948 war we might not have talked about this. It's the bad luck of the Palestinians as it could have been any non-Western people.

Don't expect any Muslim country to do anything despite all the barking (mostly coming from the Mullah's in Iran). The key lies in the Western and mostly American camp. Even hoping for an all out war with Israel would be a bad thing for the region as I am sure that Israel would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons if her national security was threatened with destruction. Before such a situation would even emerge USA would be right there to protect Israel.

Look at Iran. The so-called leader of the "resistance". 36 years of barking against Israel and USA and they are still there. Stronger than ever. In fact they are even begging the West to sit with them so they can end the sanctions. Their "mission" failed before the eyes of the entire world.

The GCC won't throw decades of progress out of the window to attack Israel just to be bombed back to the Paleolithic age and get sanctioned like Iran or North Korea.

Fair enough. I respect you too and I meant no harm with my comment. You just have to differentiate between rulers and people. I hope for the best for KSA and Iraq always although I don't always agree with the rulers in those two countries. I can't do anything about it really though.

I don't think Pakistan is as much trusted ally as Egypt because KSA have never helped Pakistan as they have did it with Egypt. Did KSA purchased tanks or jets from Pakistan or they did JV do build advance variants of tanks and jets?? Did they finance any major fighter jet deal for Pakistan, no.
