Well I know many Syrians in real life. Most of them are very liberal, open minded and kind people but sadly there are fanatics as well.

Well, foreign intervention was from day one, both in the Libya war and the Syria war. This is from the time around the 2011 Japan tsunami. Some days later after the tsunami there was news from Syria that a sniper was shooting civilians in some Syrian city. The sniper was caught and initially people thought that he was Israeli but I think he turned out to be Turkish.

What NATO wanted was regime-change in two more Muslim-majority socialist countries.
