Don’t abandon Taiwan for better China ties

An independent country is one who has a seat at the UN okay? Nobody here said Taiwan has no right to exist. Stop putting words in our mouth. We are just saying, Taiwan is an integral part of China's core interest. This means the notion of Taiwan independent is unthinkable in our society. In fact, China has absolutely no issue going to war with ANYBODY over Taiwan. We made this loud and clear to the rest of the world.

Nobody gives a **** who care about China or not. I mean, seriously, we are suppose to cry over whether the world care of us or not? You are an Indian. Your responsibility is to care about your country and mind your own country business. All I'm saying here is, we will and willingly losing all of our economic progress and prosperity in exchange for core interest integrity. This is non-negotiation.

Welcome to the world of forums. It is everybody's business to discuss every issue that is posted on the forum.

Taiwan is an independent country, hence it has embassies in every country including in US, UK and India. UN doesn't have the jurisprudence to say which country is independent or which is not. UN is just a comity of nations.

Anyway, it is not for the Chinese to say Taiwan is a part of China. Taiwan is a sovereign country, and that is what matters.

As on war, what is stopping you political establishment going to war with US over Taiwan? May be that is the only way you people can make Taiwan your part.

Moron, those are office representation. The UN is the representation of a nation. Only ONE representation of each nation is allowed in the UN. In fact, Taiwan never put the word "independent" in their constitution. Do you understand?

Dark Blue = Countries with embassies of Taiwan
Light Blue = Countries with Representative Offices of Taiwan

Taiwan said they are part of China (One China, two systems) in their constitution, not us, moron.

I'm getting tire of an Indian minding my country business. Now even the ******* Indian is trying to play the "World Police" role of America and trying to decide who land belong to who and who should be independent or not? WTF!

So you cannot argue hence going below the belt by calling names. Typical Chinese!

Good that you have posted the Graph. Hasn't it entered your brain that why Taiwan should have embassies or representative offices if it were a part of China?

And where in Taiwan's constitution it says 'one China two system'? As far as I know there is no such mention in Taiwan's constitution

I repeat Taiwan has its own constitution, independently elected president and armed forces, and continues to view itself as a sovereign state.

A poll by TVBS in 2009 only 5% saying they want unification with China, and only 3% identify themselves as Chinese

Give up that hegemonic mentality.

Taiwan will be united without a shot being fired. The entire Taiwanese economy depends on our market and manufacturing. Most of their top businessmen live here and have major influence over things in Taiwan. Taiwan military is just an ant, it's even weaker than the Indian military and that's saying something. Even Taiwanese military generals are defecting to the mainland. Once we control their elites, Taiwan has no choice but give into our demands. We have basically isolated them from the international community as only a bunch of worthless 10th world countries recognise them. Next will be financial links, then political. Little by little we are conquering Taiwan and people don't even realise it. Forget Taiwan, all of Asia is coming under our influence except a few countries.

This is our century because Asia belong to the Han race, always has done always will be. It's not only our destiny to rule this planet but our god given birthright.

Pointing thousands of missiles towards Taiwan is not exactly called living peacefully or is it in China?

Irrelevant argument…if borders between India and Pakistan are to be open, I am sure there would 7400 weekly flights between India and Pakistan…that doesn’t make Pakistan a part of India

Stop threatening us with WWIII. If you don’t know, Taiwan is an independent country with significant defence expenditure to counter China and then there is US. Any attack on Taiwan should bring US into the War equation. Taiwan has as much rights to exist on the earth as China does. Anyway if you lose your prosperity, who cares about China?

Taiwan claims the whole China. And as part of that claim, Taiwan claims South Tibet as well.

You are an idiot, Taiwan claims itself as the whole government of China. Anyone who recognize the CCP as the government of China will need to break up relationship with Taiwan. As a result, countries like US, UK and your India recognize CCP as the sole government of China, which Taiwan is a province.

Do we need a passport and visa to travel to taiwan from china.

China should mind its own business and keep itself prosperous. Its not going to dominate any other Asian countries as that is not the nature of Chinese government today.

Free Sikkim, Kashmir, Khalistan, Tamils, Assam.

We don't listen to nor care about the opinion of inferior Indians. Indians are just backward and primitive humans with an extremely low IQ and a vulgar rapist paradise. Indians are uncivilised humans as shown with their defecation, rape, world's worst corruption, caste system. We have always looked down upon the Indians because India is a defeated nation in our eyes.
We view Indians alongside Africans as very low class humans.

That's why we never talk about India on our media or just between people. That's one of the reasons we invade India without care because we think very little on India and Indians.

Are you Hong wu? Chinese people generally treat everyone with respect, not look upon anyone as inferior. Or maybe you are an Indian Hong wu.

Nope...I know quite a few Taiwanese, who are very nationalistic and would not like to be called as Chinese. As far as I know no government recognizes Taiwan as a province of China. US itself is arming Taiwan to teeth and has given it unconditional support to Taiwan if China were to attack Taiwan.

Go through the poll conducted in Taiwan in 2009

The same polls also mention that a good 64% wants to maintain Status Quo. And a good 44% says they are both Taiwanese and Chinese.
This is already well know. You can’t fool any of us by not mentioning that ….if you follow Taiwan politics.

If you follow Taiwan politics as I do everyday. First of all, Taiwan drift to independent has been effectively halted. Nobody talks about independent anymore.
Even big names in Taiwan opposition party is recognizing the 1992 concensus. If you remember, 92 concensus was a big issue in the last election when it contributed to the opposition losing the election..

The 1992 Concensus
"Both sides of the Taiwan Strait agree that there is only one China. However, the two sides of the Strait have different opinions as to the meaning of “one China.” To Peking, “one China” means the “People’s Republic of China (PRC),” with Taiwan to become a “Special Administration Region” after unification. Taipei, on the other hand, considers “one China” to mean the Republic of China (ROC), founded in 1911 and with de jure sovereignty over all of China. The ROC, however, currently has jurisdiction only over Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. Taiwan is part of China, and the Chinese mainland is part of China as well."[7]

Frank Hsieh's visit to China suggests a new willingness among Taiwan's opposition leaders to engage with their neighbors across the strait

Taiwan is already mostly integrated into China. Financial integration is already happening now. Once that is completed,
A Peace Treaty is the last item left.

Taiwan does not recognize Rapeis- I mean Hindustan's occupation of South Tibet.

Actually, all the governments in the world recognize Taiwan as the province of China, this is without dispute between the CCP in Beijing or KMT in Taipei. The only dispute is who is the legitimate government of China. You need to read up on facts before you make another comment.

Only 3%?

http://www.tvbs.com.tw/FILE_DB/DL_DB/even/200806/even-20080610175239.pdf

There are 3% of Taiwanese consider themselves as Chinese,
50% of them consider themselves as Taiwanese and
42% of them consider themselves as both Chinese and Taiwanese.
Which mean that there are 45% of the ROC citizens recognize their Chinese identity.

Also you should know the difference between "Chinese national" (中國人) and "Chinese" (華人)

Interesting file. From page 9 of this document, the ratio is 45: 45 : 4.

45% of them consider themselves as both Chinese and Taiwanese.

Most people of Taiwan are both Chinese and Taiwanese. You don't see many Indians in this thread is because the topic has nothing to do with India, or Indians don't know much about the complex PRC/ROC relationship or maybe the topic do not give them any opportunity to brag about India. Only the @Jade idiot venture into the topic to make himself look like a real fool.

It's not about money. It's about nukes. Taiwan is our strategic prize just like Aksai Chin. India couldn't stop us from grabbing it in 1962 and USA can't stop us from overrunning Taiwan with PLA. Timeline is 2016 to 2020. As soon as DPP is elected, war will be imminent.

Most Taiwanese are not Chinese. They self-identify as wannabe Japanese. Let loose our heavy weapons and take back our island!
