Our Agosta 90B are good and we are also buying china’s 6 QING class submarines It will be equipped with the new Stirling-cycle AIP and will be able to carry up to 3 CJ-10K which could carry nuclear warheads and our adversary is India for now these French and china’s will do a fine job and diesel sub running on API system are dead silent then the nuclear cousins because nuclear still need to run cooling systems for reactor and the life source systems e.g. oxygen water etc. So no need for now. :pakistan::cheers::china:

and can't you do that with conventional subs????:azn:
Yes conventional subs can also do so, but Nuclear subs will be crown jewel for PN. Pakistan has nuclear weapons, its delivery system, nuclear power plants, nuclear fuel cycle, now its only the nuclear subs which we don't have. All other countries (except N-Korea) having nuclear capabilities possess nuclear subs, so Y not PN.

Nuclear subs has its own, strategic value, significance and prestige associated with it.
Its not just the issue of having nuclear subs or not, its a complete package with development of technology, skill and expertise.

The issue is not of capability, the issue is for need, All other nuclear sub operators essentially operate blue water navies while Pakistan's stretegic interests are mainly confined to Arabia Sea and Indian Ocean, I said it before that All PN needs is a high endurace sub which can deliver tactical attack at its designated target and return home quitely. You can either have this with nuclear sub (which would not only be "overspending" but also comes at the cost of time in order to develop it [Since exports of Nuclear sub is unprecedented and would not be a viable political decision]) say PN is able to develop its own sub with say 3 Billion USD, but this would not be a good option for Pakistan since the sole sub will not be enough, Now in the same budget, one can buy a whole range of fleet consisting of not only advanced, good and reliable conventional submarienes but also some FFGs or Corvettes/Missile Boats.

One nuclear subs cost over $1 billion each.

Does Pakistan the nation, AND more imprtantly does its NAVY have that sort of financial muscle.

Nuclear sub operators

USA CHINA FRANCE UK RUSSIA & INDIA (1st 2nd 4th 5th 7th & 9th largest GDPs in the world)

Before somebody ask the relevance of MONEY.

WITHOUT money you cant buy serriously expensive nuclear subs or indeed aircraft carriers of $100m fighter planes.

THE 2 (GDP & MILITARY POWER) go hand in hand

In 2006 Pakistan was the lead country in the WHOLE world which concluded most expensive defence procurement.
Bhartis were no where near.

Pakistan will regain its 5 year old status once the PPP govt. is out.

Its not about the money, but efficient use of it. If i may put it correctly its the difference between spending wisely and spending foolishly. Indian Naval procurements are notorious for cost over-runs, if this pushes the final figures high. I am often amazed why my Indian friends are so happy on procuring a piece (which should have been produced in 50million) at 200 Million. Its idiot-ism at it best people.
