I have been regular reader of this forum since some time. In due course I am understanding more about this interesting country and its people.

Its been 60 years that Pakistan got independence with thanks to Mr Jinnah and other important members.I would like to give people of Pakistan credit for what they achieved against all those odds. Pakistan is one the few nuclear powers in the world and very important member in world diplomacy.

Still when I see threads about economy I get the impression that Pakistan has potential to achieve more if they remove certain flaws.

Why I think Pakistan has more potential-

1) Out of its 170 million population 80 million lives in Punjab which is known to be one of the most fertile areas in subcontinent.

2) I don't know exactly but some the half of its population is fairly young so its really important to give them good education.

3)As compared to India which is very diverse it would be easier for Pakistani government to concentrate suppose two provinces suppose Punjab and Sindh which have almost 120 million out of 170 million population that means 70% of total population.

4) Its like India having 70% of its population in very fertile region with full of natural resources which is sadly is not the case with it as most parts in India doesn't have the luxury of it, still its doing fairly well.

5) Simultaneously Pakistan can invest in KP and Balochistan for its economical growth.

I might be wrong with some of the above stated points but I think people of Pakistan enjoy those advantages as compared to India. As I am not citizen of your country and don't know about the ground realities in Pakistan so it would be difficult for me to point out some flaws, but to best of my knowledge in order to rectify the current situation I have some suggestions-

1) Most important point is RIGHT TO EQUAL EDUCATION which may be compulsory till age of 14.

2)More and more student must pursued to do take up technical education and science courses.

3) Some laws about distribution of land from landlords like in India there is law that if you work 12 years as worker(like anybody do work in field for % wise food) and you have officially registered as worker to that owner then half of its land given to him.
Although this have loopholes like not registering workers name or changing him, But 30-40 years ago it was somewhat successful.

I am patriotic Indian but found those some points which maybe right maybe wrong. So by keeping religion and kashmir aside FOR SOME MOMENT what do you find about my observation?

For where would you like to see Pakistan standing in next 50 years? If possible give some constructive solution, be optimistic with some strong introspection.

Please avoid wumming (WUM=wind up merchant),Stick to topic .Best of luck for people of Pakistan for its future.

Pakistan represents purely untapped potential; but politicians and people running the country who are tapped in the brains by monetery notes (to their own pocket)

.
Pakistan may be facing tough times, but surely it has the potential and the resources to find it way out of them.

A country with

1) Gold
2) Silver
3) Copper
4) Coal
5) Marble
6) Gems
7) Gas (limited)
8) More.....

reserves cannot die with hunger. If despite all natural resources we are still relying upon the loan from IMF...then surely something is terribly wrong. I take it as a temporary crisis until few basic facilities are provided to untap these reserves and start revival our economy.... in another words reviving all sectors if the money is there

I have already read very good article about education which was written by you. But its kind of poll and some of my points from my perspective. At least vote for the poll if possible.

If you have then you must know how Optimistic i am about the future , God willing we (This generation) will turn This country into a Vibrant Economy and a modern Tolerant Society,we have had too many Blows to us which has made us Resilient and hopefully we will Turn it around. :pakistan:

yes correct we stoped trying some 30 years back as for the young most of bright talent seeks oppourtunities abroad due to the security situation. We some in a real slow pace are gathering on a platform Pakistan. Once there InshAllah we will launch again

.
out of 63 years Pakistan faced almost 4 wars, Two multi-International Wars (First and second Afghan war still continued), battling first few years due to scarce resources at the time if independence.

Faced many years of political weakness coupled with military interventions (this jointly is political weakness).

many more such points SO 63 years are nothing to judge a nation for great achievements specially keeping in view our position and international pressure one way or the other

Hi,

With pakistan---you get what you see. Pakistanis---my countrymen are living in an illusion that they have un-capped potentials---little they know that they are running at 110% of their abilities.

It is just an illusion ---a make belief---that pakistanis will become something---and there are hidden talents some where---. What you see of pakistan is what it is in real---and that is what you are going to get---.

If you cook lentils and rice---you will get 'Khichri'---so why would you expect a ' Pulao '---if you start with a recipe for pakora---why would you anticipate that you would get chicken fingers out of them.

It is so sad and tragic---I feel for the young men and women and kids and boys and girls of my country---sad I am---because nobody is telling them the truth that they are being led astray in the wrong direction by the incompetent people that they otherwise know as their fathers mothers grandfathers uncles---it pains me a lot when I see the whole of my nation being led in the direction of darkness---being led in a circle---chasing a dream round and round---an endless game.

The reader needs to understand---that you just cannot forget the past and start all over---your past holds the key to your future---your past is your history---your past is the key to your future----your past is your examination card---your past is your test report---your today is like the results that you get from the school for the previous year.

If your present is a total or comprehensive failure----then you have to understand that that is what you have earned and that is what you deserve for your effort that you put into your class ( that is your country ).

If---in your everyday life---you accept that what you put into it---that is what you are going to get out of it---and over and over---you keep getting the same result---which means that you are putting the same effort again and again---and again and again it leads to your failure----so what is the bottomline---. The bottomline is that you are giving it your best---that is all you got---to get you the results that you have---.

Please understand----there is no hidden talent anywhere---there is no miracle occuring anywhere---you know why---. Who do you know wants to be a failure all the time intentionally----who do you know that wants to be the known in the world as a loser all the time---which capable person wants to keep repeating the same mistakes over and over---IT IS WHAT IT IS---IT IS WHAT YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET.

I request the readers who disagree to tell me what they think that they are doing different that will change the future of pakistan.

There is a prob and the 1st step to solve it is accept the fact that a prob exists.

So long as we feel reassured that ' someday' the heavens will smile generation upon generation will pass away in suffering.

As an outsider I feel that the one thing that needs to change is the approach that someone else who is better suited will solve everything. It may be the proverbial 3 A's - Army, America or even Allah.

The people of Pak have to rise for themselves , throw away the yoke of feudalism both on the ground & in the mind. Hardworking people need no one's help.

Yes ofcourse Pakistan has underachieved to its total potential.Perhaps no doubts should be thier becoz of so many obvious reasons.

But the main reason is:

Not only Pakistan even India have done a little to its potential. The reason is by all means is the same - The Incompetent People running and holding the mighty batton in thier hands............... - but its the WE people who should be blamed for our misery. After all we crowned them and gave power to Rape ourselves and loot the nations worth to its extent....but in return we never claim them liable for anything.... If we really wanted to live peacefully n with prosperity what we always look n dream about like the west n europe perhaps now only solution left, will find you all weird but nothing else - just blow them apart.... to stop these topics again and again and to stop burning our blood to white.

one thing amazes me about Pakistanis- In their initial years and upto the last decade, they clung on to the americans and looked to them for everything. I guess the initial phase was justified given the bipolarity of the world and it was obvious that they would go into the American camp since India had embraced the Soviets.

But Pakistanis, instead of learning from the americans and them inplementing those learnigns to develop their industry and education system, chose to remain subservient and dependant.

when America started making tough demands or when sanctions folowed, what did Pakistan do- instead of focussing on self sufficiency and economic development, simply sought out another support system in the name of China.

Today we see Pakistani members eulogising everything China does and achieves withiout realising that China is merely using them like the yanks did earlier. their fawning over china even blinds them to the extreme hatred that the average chinese has towards Muslims in China- yes that is true and I can say this with some degree of authority, having grown up in Singapore and having Chinese ancestry on my mother's side and family ties in mainland China.

Pakistanis have never even attempted to become self reliant and have looked at others to bail them out, without accepting the fact that there are no free lunches in this world- everyone works on their own vested interests and are simply using Pakistan. and your army and political leadership is in on this and enjoying the fruits at the expense of the populace. It is a sad state of affairs when the army is seen as the panacea for all ills in the country, when that same army has failed the country time and again and has only been self serving.

Alas, it may already bee too late for Pakistan. I know a lot many members here will flame me for this and make claims that we are a resilient bunch, history has always shown that we come out of messy situations etc. etc. but unless people recognise the reality, there is no hope for the populace.
