Discuss best ways to develop Bangladesh

My list
1. Education
2. Energy
3. Healthcare
4. Clean water
5. Infrastructure
6. Industrialisation
7. Checks on population growth
8. Reduction of corruption
9. Banning of student politics
10. Better relationship with neighbouring countries

The best points and in pretty good order.

First and foremost, we need to go revamp our education sector. More universities are required here. We see thousands of students enrolling to low-quality private universities spending hundreds of thousands to get certificates that is not worth a dime.
And also, something needs to be done about student politics as well. I do not ask for banning it but the flaws in the rules and regulations should be corrected. It takes 6-7 years to graduate alone in the public universities, wasting time, money and a valuable part of students lives. Good Education and proper Healthcare facilities will ensure a large population of skilled and able workers.
Corruption is kind of like part of our tradition. All we can do is hope that with proper education people will change.

In the current scenario, Energy seems to be a major concern. We need to ensure a stable supply for energy by any means necessary. It is extremely ridiculous to hope to get decent FDI when we can't give connection to small apartments due to shortage of electricity supply.

For Industrialization we need Infrastructures put in place beforehand that facilitates rapid industrialization. The PPP program initiated by the government should continue. We need more connectivity. We need to transform ourselves into a regional hub for transportation and connectivity. If Singapore, Egypt or Panama can reap benefits of its strategic locations, why can't we?

1. For any nation to get its bearings right it must, before anything else, identify/accept certain basics. What is the national identity? Who are we? What are our ideology, values, objectives and vision as a nation? What shall be the dreams of our children?

2. Answers to the above will determine all our policies and projects. Education, economy, foreign relations, defense - all would be bound to who we are and where we want to travel to. In this Pak Forum, it is relevant to show an example. After 1971 the Pakistani nation has gradually lost its direction, because the ideology/identity of Pakistan was murdered by the Conspirators of Larkana. And beginning Mush some are discovering that Pak was supposed to be a "secular' state thus cutting off the very foundation of Pak ideology. Therefore, it is no wonder that a large part of Pak is fighting it.

3. Next point is vital also. BD is surrounded by a rising Brahmonic supremacy/Hindutva on one side and an extreme Buddhist hegemony on the other. Both see, quite rightly, in BD an expansion of Islam in this sub-region. Therefore, both would not allow BD to prosper, and getting an opportunity would gobble it up.

4. Safeguarding national sovereignty and security must come at the top of our list. If we do not exist, or exist at somebody else's pleasure, then there is no purpose of this independence.

^^^^I really wouldn't worry about Myanmar. Really, its just a country run by a few nutcases with many, many problems of its own.

But I can honestly say that there are still holes in our national security.

But I agree, we really need a unified vision.

No dudes, don't mess around with the "Buddha".
He may give you the Buddha Palm, extremist way.:enjoy:

Lets start with poverty alleviation first, now in a sunny day
With all those whistles and horns its quite tragic to see young
Kids running after money rather then schools once in a while.

Better food security and self-sufficiency regarding this camouflaged
Pastures should be prioritized.
Agriculture for some unknown reason is a highly neglected
Field in this fertile country. Though there was always sufficient gov
Support nothing extraordinary materialized. It has something to do
With farmers being considered as inferiors among the general audience.

Come to think of it, almost 50% of the population
Is involved with agriculture and all we think of is BBA students
Running after banks and audit firms. We should build high-tech
Urban agricultural firms , laboratories and RnD centers for
Highly efficient food supply. Energy sufficient platforms such
As IT based warehouse, Solar powered irrigation will
Help catalyze the play. This will lead more people
To adapt and educate themselves in a land optimized scenario.

Industrialization will follow automatically but a shift in occupation
Should not be desired. Though in this age of globalization
Its inevitable.

Connectivity is preferred among the neighbors
But based on national interest not personal gratitude.

Quite a socialist lecture.. HUH.

Agriculture will flourish with the ascend of industialization and technology.
How can you bring technology to the farmer if you dont know how to build a tractor or provide them with high yield seeds? Research and Development requires high tech precise machines which are only built by industrialized countries.
Why shift in occupation is not desirable? when you bring technology to the agriculture and mechanize it then ofcourse significant number of workforce in the agriculture will become redundant. You need to place them somewhere else and industries are the place to go.

You are self contradictory.. that i can say.

Start with Education and eradicate corruption in your society !!!

Education is not a guarantee against corruption. Rule of law along with a sense of civic duty installed in every citizen can only eliminate corruption.

The most important : Basic (or intermediate) military training must be made mandatory for all male teenagers when they reach 18 years of age :

It is a good idea however, this can only be put in place when we have a significantly higher GDP. As, we have to buy different arms, ammunition for 17 lac boys. Fuel to run tanks, ships and aircrafts to train these boys in specific fields. Lack of land for army training also poses problem. Futhermore, we must build accomodation, provide food, electricity. Right now, if we implement this proposal, it will cause our economy and development to suffer
