What if another big dude turned it around on him. In America, he can be charged with disorderly conduct, especially when inside a business premise. If he spat that is assault which could include intent of spreading disease. Plus, there maybe hate crime laws. In NSW, Australia, if verbal assault leads to psychiatric damage, the perpetrator can be charged as if he did physical harm. Fortunately, the victim has the law on his side. Had this happened in India to a Muslim, Hindus would hurl more abuse. The law is not guaranteed to be on the victim's side and the aggressor becomes the victim based on the Hindutava politics of religion. This Sikh is probably aware of it and taking out his frustration on this guy.

By 'pind' people I was referring to their sophistication in dressing and their eating habits etc, not so much their aggression. However, I have seen that even the typical aggressive village types tend to get emasculated when they are not in their comfort zone (i.e. newly out of the pind or not in the company of their langotiya yaars). Once I was on a routine field visit to Haryana and the local dealers there behaved with a lot of swag, treating me like some city bred softie and were even downright rude on occasions which required negotiations. Few months later some of the same 'tough dealers' were invited to our corporate office, with their dealerships under threat due to poor performance. They behaved like pussies.
