The west of 1971 was more upfront in its dealings against nations and openly supported or declared wars against super powers of that time. The west now is more cunning and 10000 times more calculated in its approach towards its targets.

So you agree that there wont be any upfront confrontation with any country...and yes they are calculated. If I had to think from a multipolar world POV, which is inevitable then you would also agree with me that if the west has to do something its the best time when the transition to such a worl is taking place, if not now then never....and you think in current scenario they can afford such an action?

Okay, you show me .USA only shares technology with Israel and britain.Even most NATO do not have access to technologies like Ohio or seawolf or virginia or los angeles class subs.

Russia gave access to us to akula subs.

I am not denying the contributions Russia has made. But to say that Russia will ditch India just because India has bought some elephants from US and some birds from France will be wrong.
second if Russia doesnt scale up in professional dealings along side other competitors then its Russia's loss not ours. Russia took India for granted in many occasions just because they knew that we had fewer options, you want examples?? I am sure we dont!!

never gave them subs from what I know. It provided Trident SLBM to UK ,though .But then there are international treaties due to which Russia cannot transfer such tech to India.
