Dharnas are prescripted and same writer behind both:PPP Chief Zardari

Sensible words. I always thought that NS has been immature, short-sighted and vengeful about Musharraf. Unnecessary 'Punga' with the Army.
Making a deal with PAT would deflate the PTI 'Milliion Man March' even further.

Prosecuting Gen Musharraf for his treasonous and unconstitutional actions is a must for establishing the supremacy of the Constitution to serve as a warning to any and all future adventurers. That is also why the Army is going to fight tooth and nail to prevent such a precedent to be formed that could challenge its illegal hegemony in Pakistan.

Then you and I remain on different page when it comes to that. I don't think one should single out Musharraf without catching all those who supported the 1999 coup including, above all, the PCO judges AND then those who fought for the revival of the PCO judges.
We can't cheery-pick. If delayed justice is injustice then partial justice is also injustice.

At any rate, Musharraf was given exit in 2008 based on an agreement and that must be honored. Humiliating him doesn't serve any purpose, is petty, and is violation of an agreement. NS has been so petty that he won't allow Musharraf to go and visit his dying mother overseas. If NS continues the path of confrontation over counter-productive and petty things--especially at this point in Pakistan's political evolution--then NS has it coming!

Well, if singling out Gen Musharraf is a problem in your eyes, then considering posthumous prosecution of General Zia is important to removing that objection, and going back as far back as you wish, with fines and removal of all titles and pensions and other such entitlements.

What is this agreement that you refer to from a legal perspective? Nothing but a coerced handshake between thieves.

Prosecuting General Musharraf for his crimes is not humiliating him. It is meting out justice that he deserves since he chose to come back after his exit.

But, like you said, you disagree.

The military doesn't seem to be in the mood of a takeover, not because that they don't want it but because they can't do it nowadays. However, it's an awesome sight to see the army boot-lickers in severe pain due to a united parliament. Political parties uniting with each other hurts them more than anything.

Good going Gen. Raheel Sharif. Remain a professional soldier and be subservient to the elected political leadership. A true soldier does not commit a mutiny.

And what about the deal the gunja brothers did with Musharraf?

These two have lost argument once they did a deal and fled the country. If they had stayed in prison and not left the country, they would have been politically credible.

This excuse that they were forced out of the country does not stick. The Saudis showed the documents in Islamabad which both the brothers signed. If after their misdeeds and corrupt practices, people are still with PMLN, then they richly deserve to be misruled and abused by Sharif family. They deserve it.

In any scenario, 10 times out of 10, I will prefer Musharraf over gunja brothers. he was decent man and patriotic too. Not like these two stooges who will do everything for their family empire.

You may have a personal preference for General Musharraf, but the fact remains that the Army's illegal meddling in politics is disastrous for Pakistan.
