Blind are you?

Who is Sonia Gandhi?

And her taking an award for Indira Gandhi is what is the topic and the venom that you blokes are spewing.

That is the connection.

Why go far, just check the tripe that you have displayed in your post as if selling your wares on the footpath at a Haat!

Chori aur Sina jori?

Indira Gandhi is being honoured for her contribution to the Liberation of Bangladesh and which you chaps find is not correct or insinuate so. Thus comes the remainder of history rush into this thread.

The common language here is English and it is taken that all understand the same even if they cannot write efficiently.

ah you are good in establishing relations!! Good physics student eh???? let us see the thread once again .......

Carpet that soaked with blood of Bangladeshis. Because Sonia Gandhi brought dead Bangladeshis as gift for Bangladesh. It is only Awami indian stooge regime could roll out red carpet for killers of Bangladeshis.

indicating present BANGLADESH!!

It depend brother. Most of us want nothing to do with India whereas Awami ghaddar munafiq league just drag us down that way. We are curse with party called Awami league. Allah is punishing us for some sin that we have caused.

no india pakistan 1971 relation.......

I am not enamoured by Sonia Gandhi.

But to feel that the Bangladesh Liberation came about merely by the Civil Disobedience of the people of East Pakistan is a bit too thick!

Indira Gandhi played the major role.

If it were the East Pakistani Mukti Bahini alone, Nixon and Kissinger would not have been so riled up. He would have merely given the nod and the Pakistani Army would have ensured that things were all wiped up!

Do you really think that the Pakistani Army was so weak and incompetent that it could not trod underfoot a civilian rebellion?

And there were many Razakars and Biharis who were just waiting to massacre the Bengalis and were doing so.

How many of you have actually seen the Liberation as children with awareness of the times?

It reminds me of the saying - An ungrateful man is like a hog under a tree eating acorns, but never looking up to see where they come from.

wow.... the first post who brought irrelevant debate of 1971!!

The fact of the matter is that the creation of Bangladesh was a historically inevitable one. Albeit, better off that way. If we were to be a part of Pakistan today, we might be a water-filled glass bowl by now. We can safely assume it was for the better for a good destiny. That was one of the few points in history in which our interests coincided with that of India's. We aren't as aggressive as our Indian and Pakistani counterparts.

What we are seeing in the politics of Bangladesh and even our military today is pretty much the same as that of the Pakistan era. Just a different face and incarnation. We all know that the current AL government does not represent the interests of the majority of Bangladeshis. The AL traditionally stood for Socialist ideals. And yet - are they really Socialists considering that all of their members are millionaires? If we look back in the 90's when the AL was in power, all of the government owned industries were looted by AL people.

Credibility of the Bangladesh military is questionable at best.

It is understandable that state-wise; Bangladesh gets very little spotlight in the global arena. The status of bringing war criminals to justice is one example. So much so, even Indians and Pakistanis themselves are oblivious to it. Let alone the stark reality in Bangladesh right now. Hence the heavy prejudice by Indians here.

Currently, the problem is not just the AL, the problem is Hasina. It disgusts me to the core that Indians claim her to be an angel. Extremely disappointed in MMS's and his government's position on Bangladesh. This visit by Sonia Gandhi just doesn't do anything for the better but neither worse. It's all just photo opportunity and perhaps a first conversation with Hasina. I am sure she'll find Hasina a weirdo ;)

And yes, regional support for a country matters - especially for Bangladesh. The kind of regional support right now is just...wrong.

It's just that Bangladeshis are frustrated with the current system.

What matters is the present. Past is past.

Nothing political folks.

AL = indian puppets...

im sure Bengalis will be wise during next round of elections.

the man with beard is Kader siddiqui! die hard Sheikh Muzib Fan! known as Bongobir ( Hero of Bengal). he stated that : if Hasina wins next election he will wear sharee !!

Bnagla Fighter,

The issue is simple.

Indira Gandhi contributed immensely to the fact that you are free to be what you wanted to be.

Her daughter in law has come to take the award.

The award is the issue.

It is immaterial as to which Party is in power in Bangladesh.

At least, the Awami League has the grace.

And you are the rabble that makes up today's Bangladesh wherein you have total anarchy!

Tameem has touched you to the quick, hasn't he?

Bangladesh under the AL has partly been anarchy.

Bangladesh under the AL has partly been anarchy.

Nothing political.

If you think that BNP is the paragon of virtues, you will have to think again.

It takes two hands to clap.

I am afraid to be in the international limelight, one has to be credible and one has to do something worthwhile.

Bangladesh has done nothing.

The only worthwhile achievement is the contribution of Yunus, which was duly recognised.

Look at your history.

After your Liberation, it has been a total political chicanery and skulduggery. And every party has contributed to it.

Indian puppets or founders of the nation.

Depends on the perspective.

To the fundamentalist and the insecure it is puppet.

To those who acknowledge history, it is founders.

But then Bangladesh is now an anarchy.

It does not have the time to think coherently.

Hopefully, they will surface to a better tomorrow!

as zabanya said " It's just that Bangladeshis are frustrated with the current system" what has hasina done for the common people after coming to power????? if we look back we see nothing......... anyway you have little knowledge about our domestic affairs..... newspapers like daily star are owned by businees companies who publishes their view and represents a small civil society..... people are frustrated with Hasina! we would be more happier if she instead of giving honours make some justice to the people of LAXMIPUR!!

One cannot teach an illiterate in one post!

If it had not done anything, four top countries leaders would not come visiting one after the other.

The usual excuse of the deprived and frustrated, but high on dreams and fantasies.

Blame everyone else.

So it is business houses running the media!

As far as your Hasina and Khaleda, they are two peas of the same pod.

They and their family comes first and they treat their political parties as their personal fiefdom to promote their and their family interests. Let us not mistake their family interest promotion as the same as the aspirations of the Bangladesh.

And that is why the anarchical situation in Bangladesh. It has nothing to do with principles and ethics.

Of course the newspapers lie!

The pictures and videos lie!

They are after all controlled by business houses!

There is total peace, stability and the engines of economy are running full steam ahead.

The world is a set of fool, right?

Since English is a second language in Bangladesh let me give the definition of anarchy.

Anarchy - . Political disorder and confusion.

Each thread in this subforum authenticates the fact that there is a raging anarchy in Bangaldesh.

That is your proof!

So, guess who is the dreamer?
