This flies in the face of all those who disparage the Army daily in Pakistan. These roads and the dam were built literally with the blood and sacrifices of those that this thankless nation fails to recognize yet they continue to give without asking for anything in return. Indeed their reward is with someone much more gracious than this nation.

@Oscar @blain2 @Xeric @TaimiKhan - Does the Army employ people from outside the Military to help them appraise the situation from a different angle - a non military angle - so that a proper & more holistic course of action could be devised ?

I mean I was listening to someone like Akbar S Ahmed - the anthropologist & ex-civil servant - who has had experience in those areas & in the Tribal Areas of Baluchistan & his being an anthropologist certainly would've given him immense insight into this, was observing how the Malick - Political Agent System needs to be re-constituted & the way the Army has by-passed them to the point of irrelevancy & how the TTP in turn have targeted them with, perhaps, some immunity - We're digging a quagmire here for us if we continue on like this without respecting Tribal Sensibilities & Dynamics & looking it predominantly from an Operations point of view !

Others like Rustam Shah Mohmand or Ayaz Wazir - Both Ex-Civil Servants, natives of FATA & diplomats to Afghanistan !
