[6:114] Shall I seek other than GOD as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the scripture recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbor any doubt.
Oh but sure, you can take 'moulvi sahibs' advice, provided it makes logical sense:
[17:36] You shall not accept any information, unless you verify it for yourself. I have given you the hearing, the eyesight, and the brain, and you are responsible for using them.
V9S, I didn't bring this up earlier, but now I feel I must. You have quoted some very pertinent ayaat from the Quran. Let me cover the full context of one of these (6:114)
[Yusufali 6:112]
Likewise did We make for every Messenger an enemy,- evil ones among men and jinns,
inspiring each other with flowery discourses by way of deception. If thy Lord had so planned, they would not have done it: so leave them and their inventions alone.
[Yusufali 6:113]
To such (deceit) let the hearts of those incline, who have no faith in the hereafter: let them delight in it, and let them earn from it what they may.
[Yusufali 6:114]
Say: "Shall I seek for judge other than Allah? - when He it is Who hath sent unto you the Book, explained in detail." They know full well, to whom We have given the Book, that it hath been sent down from thy Lord in truth. Never be then of those who doubt.
[Yusufali 6:115]
The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all.
Please focus on the parts I have put in bold. First, Allah says that for every Messenger there is an enemy; people that use flowery language and complexities to confuse individuals. Then He says, to such people, ask if you should look to
them for guidance
or to Allah - who has made the Book FULLY detailed. This strikes at the heart of the Mullah who inserts himself as an interpretive instrument.
Next, Allah says something so profoundly beautiful and complete, you must think about it in detail. He says, the
"fulfilment" of Allah's divine word is in "truth and in justice". Now, here Allah is telling us that we must shun interpretations that result in a travesty of either truth or justice. How can Allah's perfect guidance NOT yield justice? Think about it in the context of this fatwa. Is it *justice* to force women to stay away from work where they can earn an income when their family is undergoing hard times? In no society, in no religion, under no system of jurisprudence would this be considered justice.
So in this fatwa, these evil mullahs have proven themselves to be unjust and in negation of a Holy ayat of the Quran.
They have proven themselves to be those who are busy "inspiring each other with flowery discourses by way of deception". These are evil people who seek to control interpretation of Allah's Book and by virtue of this control, gain power over people. Specifically, the power to mislead.
A professional mullah who earns his income by way of religion has automatically developed a vested interest in the interpretation of the Book. Anyone with a vested interest is conflicted and cannot be looked upon as a guide. All mullahs who earn a livelihood from Islam should NOT be followed. This is my view. I felt I should share it, now that you have brought up this ayat. I am not saying that genuine educated ulema who are professional historians, or professors of comparative religion, or have a means to a livelihood separate from religion are to be condemned. No. I am talking about the Mullah who has developed a vested interest in religion. He is utterly and completely condemnable and should not be followed. 99% of the Mullahs out there are like this... using a qabzay ki masjid, chanday kay paisay, and many other ways of turning religion into a source of income...
If the Holy Prophet (pbuh&hf) was alive today, he would do to 99% of the masjids in muslim lands what he did to Masjid-e-Zarrar.
