The mess in mentality of Afghanis is a complex outcome of generations of war, chaos and deprivation. A long term occupation results in such an agonizing uncertainty that it is enough to break people. People loose their patriotism, morality and even leave religion. Here in Australia, may it be Lebanese, Iraqi or Afghani community, most of the refugees from war torn countries will be tax evaders, will claim fake benefits, cheaters, liars, unfair business practices etc. Despite being here in 2nd- 3rd generation and speaking fluent English. This is a sad outcome of prolonged trauma for majority of the people.

ISI left a vacuum, vacuum was taken up by India. If ISI/Army/Govt had proper brains working at the top, they could have lobbied and instilled positive emotions in Afghani people before this chaos unfolded. After all we are the ones hosting Afghan refugees from decades and we are the ones most affected by their terrorism. But because ISI and Pakistan as a whole is such a reactive country, rather than proactive - it has left itself open for propaganda and negative publicity.

More needs to be done for Pakistan.
