We have completely forgotten the use of railways to construct our corridor where as their freight system is utilizing this. We need to upgrade our freight capacity through implementation of Bio diesel in locomotives which we export to europe.

Delhi - Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) is India's most ambitious Infrastructure programme aiming to develop new industrial cities as 'Smart Cities' and converging next generation technologies across infrastructure sectors. The objective is to expand India's manufacturing and services base and develop DMIC as a "Global Manufacturing and Trading Hub".

Conceived as a global manufacturing and trading hub, the project is expected to double employment potential, triple industrial output and quadruple exports from the region in five years. The total employment to be generated from the project is 3 million, the bulk of which will be in the manufacturing/processing sectors. The availability of labour resource is at approximately 50+ million in the immediate influence zone and 250+ million across the states where this project passes throughy and Science and many more institutes such as Indian Institute of Information Technology are planned along corridor.

The backbone of the project would be the Dedicated Freight Corridor - a dedicated freight railway line that would cut the logistical costs of manufactured goods to make it the lowest in the world. .Dedicated Freight Corridor expected to be completed by 2017.

The corridor project incorporates nine mega industrial zones of 250sq.km, a high speed freight line, three ports, six airports, a six-lane intersection-free expressway connecting the two metros and a 4,000MW power plant.

abhe chup bandar ki aulaad, $46 billion is just for initial stage which will be completed by 2017-18. Over all its close to trillion dollars to be completed by 2030.
