No offense but: as far as i know

Hurkus Trainer: ~$12 million
Anka-B UCAV: ~$60-70 million for 3 aircraft & 1 ground station
Anka-A UAV: ~$35-45 million for 3 aircraft & 1 ground station
Otokar Yavuz APC: $2.7-3.2 million
FNSS Pars IFV: ~$3-4 million
Altay MBT: ~$15 million

I mean a fighter jet with a cost of 2-3 million seems imposibble. Maybe the editors of the article made a mistake ?

Designed and developed at a cost of $2 to 3 million, not produced at a cost of 2 to 3 million.

This "indigenous fighter jet" Iran presented on 2 February is nothing more than a very sleek plastic model. Further, the canopy appears to be constructed of basic plastic, the air intakes are unusually small, and the whole impression is of some plastic parts pasted to an old flying platform. One expert says the cockpit and ejection seat seem real, but the Qaher-313 displayed seemed too small to be a capable fighter. A photo of the cockpit shows a simple glass cockpit design using civilian avionics from Dynon Avionics and Garmin which are normally found on much less sophisticated general aviation aircraft. The markings on the backup airspeed indicator in this photo seem unrealistic, suggesting a stall speed in landing configuration of merely 70 knots and a never exceed speed of about 260 knots; values more likely to be found on a small turboprop aircraft

The aircraft is clearly a hoax with its implausible aerodynamics

What if it has a lot of special plastic in it, can you imagine the weight to the engine power_thrust_ ratio, if it did not work, Iran wouldn't have showed it to the world, and they have been honest about it flying as a scaled model, the one they have shown is the model of the full scale one and if you open your eyes you'll see that it has at least the dimensions of an F-5 fighter jet, one of the best fighters of all time.

Why kamikaze attacks, these are not Japanese desperate pilots, and eventhough they didn't have stealth technology.
I also think that they can attack an aircraft carrier since they can fly at low altitudes and are stealthy, a very good combination if you do not want to be detected at all, but the fighter plane is not restricted to aircraft carriers, it can attack all kinds of warships escorting the carriers, and play a decisive role in eliminating the naval helicopters threatening the Iranian attack ships and submarines.
Manufacturing a large number in the hundreds is also a deterrent, since the article mentions its high capability to fight in low, medium and high altitudes, its stealth features, its simple maintenance and low cost, this fighter plane is a dream come true, it optimizes every aspect of design, manufacturing and real world application efficiency.
If let us say an F-16 or even an F-15 can not see it through its radar than the advantage goes to the Qaher because it is can get to a very close range to lunch a short range air to air missile, that is very dangerous because the response time of the F-16 or f-15 is extremely short against the speed of the missile, let us say Mach 3 at 6 km, witch gives a response time of a maximum of 15 seconds.
So indeed, It is actually a very smart defense doctrine, considering the circumstances and regardless of them.

How much stealthy it is nobody knows except its designer because photo suggest so many design flaws. It does not have internal weapon bay space. Then how could it would armed with missile if on external hard points then it will loose its stealth.

4.5 generation aircraft could detect it if in very close range then 60 km , how can it lock without effective Radar. I am not counting AWACS which USN operates from their carrier. For your Information USN F-18 Super Hornet posses AESA radar & advance jamming system.

"That was the Americans' analysis, but we bravely declare that Qaher, (designed and developed) at a cost of $2 to 3 million, is a Basiji (volunteer) aircraft to protect the Persian Gulf," Bokayee noted.

I think it will be a cheap suicide attack fighter with just a fancy look.

stealth plane right from the get go ? maybe tech from captured UAV + Russian/Chinese help

Either way...great job Iran

Agree with you, and moreover the radom is tiny, how can it hold better radar?

And who says F-313 has no internal weapon bay space?
according to Iranian media it has internal space for 6 medium-range AtoA missiles or two 2000 pounds bombs.

Where ?Picture does not shows any left space for weapon bay neither weapon bay door. I didn't think it carry its arms in fuel tank or air intake or in cockpit.

First of all, you have to know, the unveiling Qaher wasn't operational nor real.It was just a show.

But as you want, here you can see the designer's computer that shows the internal payloads are opening and closing...

Watch from 4:00

One good point about the design is, that the intakes are located above the wings.this make more space for the internal weapon payload.and also that makes the jet even more stealth.

Its shows in only computer graphics not in practical prototype. I took Saqueh more promising than this.

Sir,I told,no picture of any practical prototype has been published so far.that was a show.even the cockpit was not real as designer said.

the bottom side of unveiling qaher is not clear in the pictures,BTW.

Thats why I am saying that they didn't disclose clear information & RC model does not look promising. I want Iran should concentrate on Radar & Turbofan engine because both even F-22 is toy plane.
We experience this when we develop HF-24 Marut .

Yes,up to now,not many informations have been published.all we know is that it has great aerodynamic performance as we have seen from the wind tunnel's test and RC model's flight.

further information will be released by the end of Persian year as we expect to see the first flight then.

Tunnel testing would be good but main challenge is internal weapon bay, Radar & engine.
