muslims 'tried' to impose their version of religion and culture and couldn't over 800 years because the better religion and culture that already existed in India prevailed for obvious reasons. when they tried force, they did manage to convert a minority which unfortunately is still suffering from having lost their original culture. Just look at the people of Pakistan struggling for identity, running from arabs, to mongols of uzbeks to what not begging fro acceptance to be only rejected by them all. this is why in spite of the horrendous behavior of Pakistan, I feel sympathy rather than hatred towards them. Their ancestry, culture all taken away and they have but no choice to call what they were forced into.

Since neither you, nor I was alive too see it happen with our own eyes, and I am certain you are not a Historian, lets not assume too much.

That being said, there is no where in history where it says a large scale genocide of Hindus was even attempted by Muslims, nor was Islam forcefully imposed. You yourself would know, if you bothered to read from the pages of history, that most Hindus were peacefully converted, especially by Sufis.

Certainly, Islamic rulers left their mark on India in many ways, from cuisine to architecture, take your Taj Mahal as an example.

Let me remind you, if Hinduism was indeed the superior religion, not one person would have found it necessary to convert to Islam, and the Hindus would not have been subject to Islamic rule for even one day

We can't change the past, you can't deny that Muslims have played as much a part in the subcontinent as Hindus have. We have been here for centuries, and we will continue to be here, InshAllah, till the last day

Let us check our math and facts. Delhi Sultanate began in 1192. Muslim dominance over Northern India ended by 1720. Marathas were the dominant power in Northern India. The British did not conquer Bengal until 1757.
