NEW DELHI: November has been the deadliest month for the security forces with 39 terrorists killed in Jammu and Kashmir, the highest hits this year in comparison to previous months. One of these major kills was of Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Naveed Jatt on Wednesday and now the security forces are working towards eliminating the few remaining top terrorist leadership in the state, government officials said.

The security forces have so far killed 233 terrorists this year, much higher than the total count of 213 last year. But, this is not it. The forces are expecting more action in the coming days, having received inputs on most of the terrorists being concentrated in certain areas of south and central Kashmir. These terrorists could include the three top leaders who are the prime targets.

Army Chief General Bipin Rawat while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Delhi on Wednesday had said that the security forces are ‘one by one’ killing terrorists, who have been named as the top 12 most wanted ones in J&K and plans are afoot to finish their leadership. Sources explained that following Jatt’s killing, forces are searching for Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Zeenat-ul-Islam, the group’s chief operational commander in Kashmir, Riyaz Ahmad Naikoo, besides Zakir Musa of the group called the Ansar Ghazwat ul-Hind. The three are locals of Kashmir and have been categorised by the forces as ‘A++’ terrorists, which is the most notorious level.

What a stupid headline! How is this deadliest for the security forces? Surely they meant deadliest for the freedom seekers? 39 in a month, that's almost 1 a day.

A lot of Pakistanis are gonna be disappointed when they click on the thread.

Keep telling yourself that.

Fact of the matter is that Kashmir has slipped,
matters are no longer at civil government's, para military's level.
If your top general has to get into it himself, the sheettt has hit the fan.

Not really, Kashmir has moved more and more to where we want it

Anti Indian is a basic norm

And thus far all it has cost us is 233 freedom fighters this year and even they have attained salvation for fighting for their people's freedom like that shit bhagat singh

Yeah sure it has slipped, as long as Pakistanis keep believing that they might be getting closer to their Kashmir's objective that's job done for us. We want you to keep trying.

The headline is wrong though.

That beheading video of a kashmir youth by the freedom fighters did more damge than whatever excesses Indian forces might have committed. Didn't you notice how many of these freedom fighters got killed after they made the video public?

The forces are doing a fabulous job. I was hoping for a couple of zeroes in front of that 39 though.

Rajnath Singh has been quite reticent in introducing harsher methods in the valley for CRPF units.

Both the Army and CRPF need to be "restrained" and instead officers in civilian clothing (like how MARCOs operate) should be delivering deaths to these lunatics. Also, we could do with some serious micro and mini-UAV firepower.

Suppressed pistols and aerial snipers equipped on drones are needed in the valley, so that remotely operating specialist officers can have a real-time view and can take out critical targets. This is not the game for Predators; we need something small, swift, silent and lethal.

Something like this:

Israel has already unveiled this for border patrols.

Imagine a 7.62 mm silenced sniper with thermal/NV capabilities hovering silently over a group of "freedom fighters" planning something nefarious, in the dark. These drones may also be equipped with incendiary grenades to clear groups of them at once.

With accurate real time imagery, they could even dispatch civilian-clothed troops (with adequate protection) and ultra-compact SMGs and pistols to storm into a hideout and kill the terrorists before any innocent civilian or police officer gets harmed.

Seriously, I don't know what is MHA and MoD thinking; sleeping their behinds and writing reams of 'tenders' and 'proposals'.

That pissed off local people and they provided intelligence to us. People can be happy that there is issue in Kashmir, there is terrorism etc etc. It is something that keeps us busy agreed, but it does nothing to your goal. This is where Pakistani thinkers are stupid, their lack of focus on results and outcome.
