Dassault Receives Qatar's Down Payment for Rafales

Our Air Force has given 2 options to be picked by Government during F 5 replacement program, Su 35 and F 16 V. It means F 16 V offer has bitten Rafale/ Typoon/ and Gripen all together. And as we all know, our government then choose Su 35.

According to our Air Force officials both Fighters are chosen based on what our Air Force has been familiar with (They have operated both Sukhoi and F-16). They seems very satisfied with those fighters performance. And dont forget about Su 35 operation reach, that is fit with our need to protect our vast land and waters, especially in a condition where we actually still dont have enough fighters even after acquaring 16 F 5 replacement fighters.

SU-35 has 6 times bigger frontal RCS than Eurofighter Typhoon.

Gripen, Typhoon and F-35 can detect it and shot it down with Meteor BVRAAM. If SU-35 is being engaded from 75 kilometers away with Meteor, it basically has no chance of espace, Meteor has 300 kilometer range.

Dassault Receives Qatar's Down Payment for Rafales, Defense Exec Says

PARIS — Dassault Aviation has finally received a long-awaited down payment from Qatar for an order for 24 Rafale fighter aircraft, backing up a contract signed in May, a defense executive said today.

Now that the Arabs are going to finally have their own force to combat extremism, when will they start to strengthen their military infrastructure to devote a stronger force to take out anti-extremist activities? Why don't they buy manufacturing rights or TOT for a decent plane like the EFT, or F-15 or even Chinese J-15, J-31, etc, and start to manufacture their own platforms? Buying from others when you want to build a global anti-extremist force can prove out to be difficult. If you are involved in Syria with ISIS and Talibans in Afghanistan and in Yemen, so you have three fronts, you'll need supplies and your own production line for everything.....

Congrats to the French though, you win some you lose some. :)

Hi,

The French----got a lifeline from muslim states---otherwise---the Rafale production---as you know was coming to an end----.

And that was not the problem----the real problem was that France was going to lose its very well trained fighter aircraft building LABOR FORCE---and something like that is not replacable.

Yup agreed, technical expertise once lost is hard to gain back. Building a team from scratch again will be a big pain in the ***.
