Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh): Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, endorsed his relevant details in the form for the 2011 census.

His inclusion in the census has paved the way for bona fide Tibetan refugees residing in India to be reckoned in the census.

"We visited Dalai Lama and he signed the census form with great happiness. He said that he is staying here for the last 50 years and is very happy to be included in the 2011 census count of India," said B R Chauhan, Census Officer. "He also assured that all Tibetans in-exile would include their names in the census so that they can get their ensuing UID (Unique ID Card) that is at par with any authentic document of an individual," he added.

The Dalai Lama expressed his delight at the inclusion of Tibetans-in exile in the 2011 census of India, asserting that he himself has been residing here for the past five decades.

The Tibetan population in-exile is being counted in the census of India 2011 for the first time.

The census of 2011 is regarded as the gateway for every citizen to obtain the proposed Unique ID card that the Central Government has proposed to launch.

This is a very good step indeed.

This is to make sure tht illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, Nepali living in India, Tibetans etc. etc. are all counted and accounted.

This will help in checking the crime and terrorism.

As Govt. will have their all the details + Photograph + fingerprints of all the 10 fingers.

The govt. project of tracking crime and criminals in its last stages. Where govt. is connecting all the police stations and prisons in India with one another.

The speedy and authentic trial will be the norm in the near future.

Police just has to enter the name/fingerprint etc. and they will get all the details like when he/she was arrested, on what charges, details of bank accounts, traffic challans, investments etc. etc.

unique ID card will help to make India safer ............as Dalai Lama is living in India for last 50 decades or so ,It is necessary to do so.
Govt. is planning to make mandatory to have this card for opening bank accounts , driving licences, passport etc.

So further illegal migration can be checked as well as it will make difficult for spies to hide in India and carry out his activities

Very good move for India, we had those "Smart ID" issued to us about ten years ago in HongKong, very convenient, the best part was
really difficult to fake, one ID to replace all personal documents.

thats something on topic...hope people learn from you..

let me get one first:partay:

Trust me, from experience, once its issued, the new "Smart ID" will became the target of crooks to steal it, since they won't able to fake one anymore, they will sell it to criminals for a good price.

The UID is not proof of Indian citizenship. This has been made clear by the govt. time and again.

So Dalai Lama is only being counted as an Indian resident not a citizen. Although he and thousands of other Tibetans have refugee status in India and would obviously want to return to their land if only it was safe for them to do so.

.

Are you sure that "UID is not a proof of indian citizenship."???????

I have heard that this UID will be used in every identification process in future. There will be a national data base based on this, which will be accessed for every important occasion weather for civilian use or in identification of criminals...

If this will not a proof of indian citizenship, then what will be the uses of this??????? I thought that it will a multipurpose card...:undecided::undecided::undecided:
