Buddhism, Christianity share same goals: Dalai Lama

LOL, coming from an Indian who claimed Chinese are not homogenous. It would be hilarious to take you seriously.

What is coming is not a topic, topic is how communist killed the religious beliefs of Chinese people, already a huge damage done to it.

Yes I do not know what I'm talking. Pls stop asking me.

It took you so much time to post a response itself. And you only posted after I made the post that I was testing you.

What is coming is not a topic, topic is how communist killed the religious beliefs of Chinese people, already a huge damage done to it.

It recovered also fast ,very fast. The reason why socialism spread in China and Russia is that the religions there themselves had semi-socialist aspects.

Do you have sources for your claims on Tantrik Hinduism ?Which form do you follow? Shaktism ? Shaivism? or Vamamarga?

Your site is Hindi to English translation.

I am talking about the Sanskrit word Murti and its real meaning in Hinduims and its relative transilation in English.

An average Hindu follows all forms, thought Vamacara is now rare.

I understand Asaram Bapu is a practitioner of Vamacara, and I think his followers might be Vamacara too. He is one of the Few and Rare Guru's of Vamacara. Hence his getting embroiled crime is all the more tragic.

Most Vamacara practitioners are secretive and live low key lifestyles for a good reason.

It recovered also fast ,very fast. The reason why socialism spread in China and Russia is that the religions there themselves had semi-socialist aspects.

I know about the recovery since 1980 but recovery is not complete to the extent once it was, the damage done was extreme. The recovery has one focus of economic benefit through tourism sector.

Doesn't Taoism have the Yin and Yang concept? as in male and female principle?

Yin and yang concept is part of the "naturalness." The purest of Taoism is in Tao Te Ching. Rural folklore beliefs fused with mythology and some elements of taoism is not taoism.

That guy and his followers were involved in child sacrifices, rapes and necromancy and it was proven via polygraph tests which have 85%+ accuracy. A lot of people say best stay away from Vamamarga as it is a dangerous form and some people even call it black magic. Check out Aghor Pir and his experiences with vamamarga practices which led to his encounter with the demoness Mohini.

Though I have not seen these problems in Tantric Shaivism . There are a Shaiva school in Hawaii and India which was responsible for developing the tyaf alphabet to communicate with divine spirits.Sometimes I feel that the knowledge was passed on by tantric shaivites itself.

Both are cosmic forces according to taoists. Like the Shiva-shakti priniciple which was later worshipped by Hindus.

Go to Dharma wheel or Buddhist forums on chan, zen buddhism. Even PRC gave up the anti-religious policies instanteously ,shows how much failed the anti-religious policies were.

Not as much as what the western media reported. Even the death tolls was grossly exaggerated.

Cosmic is not an apt translation if you can read chinese. Like Qi, Ying and Yang are part of the naturalness. The Tao way.

LOL...Vamacara is indeed what the ignorant call 'black magic'.

It advance practices does involve shav pooja (not nacromancy) and sex. Human sacrifice was practiced by Very Advanced practitioners in an earlier age. This is the reason this practice is secretive and is taught only to the rarest of rare scholar and practitioner. But in today's time, most of those tantrik vidya have been destroyed.

Vamacara is a very tough discipline to follow and can only be practiced with the help of a guru. The guru is supposed to be constantly with the practitioner as he tries to awaken his kundalini shakti. It's a practice that needs a one to one hand holding and guidance.

There are Vamacara and Dakshinachara in Tantric Shaivism itself.

Now that we are on a topic of Vamacara and Tantrik, here is something to chew on and understand why Tantrik vidya is not taught nowdays.

The curse of a Tantrik

It’s still majestic. This medieval kingdom, that is. Or rather, the remains of it. Hundreds of years ago, its occupants fled. Or died. Nobody’s sure. Not a single human soul lives in the 158 hectares of land. Snakes slither along rocky corners. Climb up to the crumbling palace into the dark hallways, you’ll be greeted by the smell of dead bodies and gunpowder. Bat droppings apparently smell of war. You’ll see a secret passage guarded by orange and silver markings. And rats. Tantriks come here to perform black magic. Most temples inside have no idols. Welcome to the real city of djinns.

At the edge of the Sariska Tiger Reserve, between Jaipur and Alwar in Rajasthan, is Bhangarh, popularly known as the “ghost city of India.”

Rocky Singh, co-host of NDTV Good Times’ show, India’s Most Haunted, says, “This was the only location where [co-host] Mayur [Sharma] refused to do an isolation session.” In the show, both spend time alone on every location they visit. When they spent the night here, they heard footsteps and the screeching of a woman, their motion sensors went off and stones were thrown at them. “If I were to say that any of the places I’ve been to in the last 20 years is haunted, I’d say Bhangarh,” says Rocky, who’s travelled to haunted places around the world.

Bhangarh.jpg

Till a few years ago, the locals loved to tell stories about the haunted kingdom. But when these stories appeared on television, they were offended. “Yahaan par djinn aate hain, bhoot-pret nahin!” says a village shopkeeper indignantly.
The city, according to legend, was cursed by a tantrik in the sixteenth century. Singhia, a lecherous tantrik, was attracted to the beautiful queen of Bhangarh, Ratnavati. One day, he saw her maid buying some hair oil for the queen and put a love spell on it. The queen was a tantrik herself. One look at the swirling oil and she threw the flagon away. As soon as it touched the ground, the stone magnified into a boulder and moved towards Singhia. All the tantrik could do before the boulder crushed him was to curse the land, “Bhaag jaao” he warned the people. “Bhangarh woh jagah hai jahaan se log bhaag jaate hain,” says Sumit, who sells beverages outside the premises.

The ruined city is flanked by the Aravallis on three sides with streams running along landscaped gardens. There are markets and havelis. You can’t help but think that there’s got to be another explanation! And there is.

The kingdom was established in 1599 by Raja Bhagwant Das for his son Madho Singh, the younger brother of Akbar’s general, Man Singh of Amber. Madho Singh named the city after his grandfather Man Singh (who was also known as Bhan Singh and that’s where ‘Bhangarh’ comes from). In 1720, Jaipur’s Jai Singh II attacked the city. Some historians say Jai Singh II’s repeated attacks forced the people to escape. Others blame the famine of 1783. Either way, Bhangarh remains unoccupied since. Almost.

Djinn-Maharaj-shrine.jpg

According to the Rajasthan Tourism website, “the evil effects of the (tantrik’s) curse are believed to be working even now.” The Internet is flooded with horror tales. People claim to have heard the tinkling of payals, seen the ruined market come to life. Tarun Akash, a student, wrote on indianfusion.aglasem.com about how he along with two friends met with an accident after a night spent in Bhangarh. The odd thing, he says, was that they were the only people to have been hurt in a bus of more than 50 people, even though they were sitting 5-6 rows apart. Bhangarh is on several lists of ‘the most haunted places in the world’ on the Web. Bhoot, chudail, djinns – she’s witnessed them all over the last three decades, says a wizened Rama Devi, who has been running a water stall outside the monument premises ever since she got married. “They are all there. But we are not scared. We have our temples,” she says.
Another indicator of ghosts was a signboard put by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) outside the ruins that warned people against entering the fort after sunset. The notice has now been removed because everybody who visited saw this as proof of ASI’s belief in the paranormal. “These rumours are rubbish,” says Vasant Kumar Swarnakar, superintending archaeologist, Jaipur circle, ASI. “Every monument in the country has the same sign. It has nothing to do with ghosts or spirits,” he insists. “All that is rubbish,” he repeats. It’s the wild animals that make the area dangerous. Its proximity to Sariska makes it a haunt for foxes, panthers and even tigers at night.

Besides, adds Swarnakar, “Our guards patrol the area at night but no incident has ever occurred!” But several people have come screaming out “ghost”. There have been deaths. “It’s because people try to enter the ruins from the hills at night, the boulders are loose, people fall!” he says.

Bhangarh-market.jpg

Last year, a man jumped into the step-well and hurt his head. While he was being rushed to the hospital, the car crashed and the two others died. An unfortunate accident blamed entirely on ghosts. So much so, that the locals have a joke based entirely on logical reasoning. “Bhangarh mein har saal kuchh log marte hain. Unke bhoot toh yahin par rukenge na!” they laugh.
Ram Gopal Joshi, the pujari of the Hanuman temple at the entrance of the Bhangarh ruins, has a theory, “Jiske grah kharaab hote hain, usko bhoot dikhta hai,” he says.

Visit that place one of these days if you want to experience the power of a Tantrik's curse. Though I seriously will not recommend it.

Sadhaks’ lie detector test confirms black magic at Asaram Ashram: CID

Based on the lie detector test of three sadhaks of the Asaram Ashram, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Gandhinagar has concluded that black magic is being performed inside the ashram and that the three are aware about the same.

This revelation was made by CID (Crime) officials in their affidavit submitted before the Gujarat High Court on Wednesday.

CID official H B Rajput made this submission in his affidavit-in-reply to a petition by the fathers of two children who were found dead on the riverbed of Sabarmati in July last year. The bodies were recovered two days after they went missing from the ashram-run Gurukul under mysterious circumstances. Some of the organs were missing from the bodies.

Explaining the investigations done by the CID, Rajput has made reference to the 'black magic' part and the lie detector test of Minketan Patra, Vikas Khemka and Uday Sanghani.

"The FSL, after conducting the test on the trio, submitted its report, interalia, concluding that all the three persons knew about the black magic performed in the ashram. They were also aware about the activities carried out at the ashram, but they were concealing the same," said Rajput in the affidavit.

It may be noted here that the petitioners have demanded investigation in the case by the Central Bureau of Investigation, as they feel there is lacuna in the investigation carried out by the state agency, CID.

In episode 93 of the USA popular science show Mythbusters, they attempted to fool the polygraph by using pain to try to increase the readings when answering truthfully (so the machine will supposedly interpret the truthful and non-truthful answers as the same.) They also attempted to fool the polygraph by thinking happy thoughts when lying and thinking stressful thoughts when telling the truth to try to confuse the machine. However, neither technique was successful for a number of reasons. Michael Martin correctly identified each guilty and innocent subject. The show also noted the opinion that, when done properly, polygraphs are correct 80-99% of the time.[74]

Vamamarga is in both shaivism and shaktism,
Dakshinachara is right hand path.Left hand path is typically more black magic type. And anything that involves human sacrifice is not from God but from Ghosts. Both Sufi and Hindu saints have made this statement in front of me.

I am aware Asaram Bapu is a Vamacara practitioner and a Vamacara Guru. I did not need CID to confirm that.

Vamacara practice is not illegal in India you know and not all vamacara practice involves human sacrifice

Ram Krishna Paramhansa was also a Vamacara practitioner. He was the Guru of Swami Vivekananda.

Criminals get hanged for the public good, Soilders get sacrificed for the greater good........ Vamacara practices are usually to gain siddhi which are usually used for public good. Like all things, it can also be used for evil. Its foolish to comment on things you do not understand. Especially calling stuff 'Magic' (Black or white)

In the end, all practices lead to god. At least that is the Hindu belief system.

Mexico City: The Dalai Lama has told Mexicans that Christianity and Buddhism coincide in their pursuit of human happiness.

Both religions promote "love, compassion and self-discipline" that lead to happiness, the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader told some 3,000 people yesterday. More than 90 per cent of Mexico's 118 million people are Catholic. With his usual smile and good humor, the Dalai Lama said that for decades, Christian leaders have been interested in some Buddhist teachings.

Christianity promotes the concept of a transcendent and unique God as creator, while Buddhism refutes the existence of a creator.

The Dalai Lama's trip, which began Friday, marks his fourth to Mexico, home to some 5,000 Buddhists. He will leave on Wednesday.

US actor and Tibet activist Richard Gere participated in the event, which was preceded by a Tibetan music show and held at an entertainment center in northern Mexico City.

No matter how many people are in the Dalai Lama's presence, Gere said, "something special happens."

"I'm not a movie star, I'm just a student like you," said Gere, 64, in speaking about his advocacy efforts. The enthusiasm of attendees was dampened by audio problems that made the conference unintelligible for long periods of time.

"We came with much devotion to listen to His Holiness. We waited a long time and paid a lot for tickets. It's not fair, the sound is a disaster," attendee Hilda Montano told AFP.

The Dalai Lama fled Tibet following a failed uprising against Chinese occupation in 1959 and later founded the Tibetan government-in-exile in India. He stepped down as its leader in 2011.
Buddhism, Christianity share goals: Dalai Lama

He's got a point I guess.

Not that I see how it'll matter much to his cause, i'm afraid we westerners can't help much improving the level of selfgovernance the Tibetans get to enjoy :( I hope i'm wrong on that.
