CRPF Gone Berserk

Oscar It has been 4 yrs.. till when are you people going to sweep these events under the carpet, by deleting threads/posts, handing out infractions?
As I said before, it is extreemly hypocritical of you people to ban any kind of representation of Pakistani army's deeds in its own areas deployment where as at same time, mocking Indian forces for any excesses?

Is that why a fierce fighting/resistance is going in western half of your country?

Salaam to all the Muslims,

:pakistan:

What did you just say about our Western regions?

Mammohan Singh's Balochistan blunder : India Today

Salaam to all the Muslims.

Give the terrorists hell, Kashmiris.

Indian terrorists deserve everything that is coming to them

Conflicts might be diametrically opposite..but treatment of civilian population by the security forces deployed in an area is a constant...what has changed, wasn't similar executions carried out in 1970 ..except on a massive scale.

The conflicts are diametrically opposite and you acknowledge that. That's where discussion on the military presence on western sector ends.

by the way, no AFSPA-like conditions exists there; curfews did exist during mil ops in extremely sensitive areas (in many cases residents opted to stay with family in Peshawar or Karachi or elsewhere) but no draconian measures have been imposed.

Kashmir is a disputed territory between India and Pakistan and not an occupied territory

If you read 'UNGA Resolution 2649 on the right of populations to resist occupation'..freedom fighters are allowed in occupied territories not in disputed territories.

I'll have to double check on what is contained entirely in the Resolution; i do seem to vaguely recall that it also talks about the right to self determination.

does it not?

At least there is no heavy blanket on news reporting from the Indian side. The same cannot be said of the many areas in Pakistan - admitted even by many Pakistani posters here.

Also, we cannot ignore that Pakistan is one the most dangerous countries for journalist. It does not paint a very good picture.

As a matter of fact it does not, as I said before Pakistan's army treatment of civilian population regardless of the area deployment...or type of conflict..has always been the same. It was same back in 1971..when summary execution were being carried on massive scale..It is same.. years later..when videos of other summary execution carried out Pakistani army..but are quickly swept under the carpet. Civilian areas are being bombed with aircrafts and artillery.

AFSPA is just a tool to prevent armed forces from wrongful prosecution ..when deployed in Civilian areas....in comparison..which ever Pakistan army deployed in, is declared a war zone, no civilized rules apply there, no media is allowed in ..it can kill anyone and everyone in there, no questions asked.

Yes it does talk about right of people to self determination in Occupied territories..which is completely different from, UN recommendation for holding a plebiscite in Kashmir as method of conflict resolution on a disputed territory.

a phenomenon which only came into being following the 2001 invasion/occupation of neighbouring Afghanistan by NATO....but of course you would compare 2 diametrically opposite conflicts

Kashmir is a disputed territory; even the UN & Geneva Conventions differentiate between a terrorist and a freedom fighter.

If you occupy a foreign land, put a stranglehold over their economy, over the freedom of movement of the people, torture them, imprison them (even teenagers), throw them in mass unmarked graves etc. --and then you expect they wont resist --- then you need your head checked.

any man worth his salt would resist.....non-violently but also violently. It's human nature.
The scenario developed only after 2001 also points at things going out of Pakistan's direct control. It had to one day or the other. Pakistan though it could repeat the performance of Afghanistan by doing the same to Kashmir. It failed miserably and in the mean time a double whammy was served in the form of NATO occupying your strategic backyard.. No more terror camps could be operated openly.. No more illaka e ghairs and what not.. Some say they still exists and they are now used by TTP and other groups.

You might consider UN as the supreme decider but its not.. Its served by the interests of the first world most of the time. We were stupid to go to them not on the dispute of the territory but on the war waged by the state of Pakistan on an independent state under the then Raja.

By all counts the assertion of occupying a foreign land is baseless and is a lie Pakistanis have been fed over the decades. Its surprising that you guys don't even know the history of a conflict for which you guys become all emotional...

nonsense; all the major news networks in Pakistan have embedded journalists in FATA region along Afghan border. Extremely extremely dangerous line of duty, but they do it.

foreign journalists are allowed but not to tribal areas (because of the danger) except in certain rare cases where govt/army allowed it under certain conditions. If not FATA, then at least areas leading up to FATA (e.g. Kohat)

Pakistan being dangerous for journalists - there is truth to that. But no heavy blanket on news reporting from occupied Kashmir? This is very untrue.

350 CRPF persnoal injured and 130 Vehicles damaged.... these protesters need a Lathi charge ...call me evil..but this is a rabid Hatefull mob which needs to be disciplined...

stupid omar abdullah passed an order tat only one third of a company of jawans must carry weapons and rest carry lathis....what more can you expect the ill-equipped crpf to do......the crpf must be given back their guns asap so that they can discipline these arsonists.......

whats so strange??its their duty to maintain law and order..and they'll do what ever it demands.now dont tell me pakistani police are so incapable of handling such situations

no they are patently incapable......is that not clear.....

Next time CRPF taking a leaf from PA's book(operation's in balochistan and FATA) should use helicopter gunships and tanks while dealing with such rebellion.

not to forget incessant artillery bombarding of entire villages into oblivion.....

I'm sure I've come across many threads people have said that only the journalists who are in Army's pocket are given permission to go and report and others get to report but very rarely. There is none, some form of control might be there but a blanket like in Pakistan, none. We have seen many news items coming from Kashmir including the mass graves issue..

Considering the fact that the land of kashmir can never leave the Indian Union, how many such threads are opened and how many posts are made on 'in humanness' etc let the frustration be vented here. As any patriotic citizen u and i may feel angry at these posts and double standards but that doesn't alter the one fact of integral Kashmir.

Caught on camera: CRPF men damaging public property

Srinagar: A video purportedly showing CRPF troopers going berserk in Nawab Bazaar locality of downtown Srinagar has gone viral on social networking websites.
The 11 minute grainy video clip title ‘Nawab Bazar Kani Jung’ has apparently been shot with a mobile camera from a high rise building near the SMHS Hospital in Nawab Bazaar and has been uploaded on the YouTube on Saturday. The clip has been widely shared on Facebook and Twitter drawing severe condemnation from the users.
In the shaky video, CRPF troopers, carrying rifles, batons and shields are seen going berserk while chasing groups of protesters. An armored vehicle is seen chasing the protesters.
Besides, smashing windowpanes of residential houses with stones and sticks, the troopers in video are seen tearing off tarpaulin sheet of a shop. The troopers can also be seen kicking doors of a few residential houses. As the troopers retreat, a bulletproof Gypsy escorts them.
Refuting the allegations, Inspector General of CRPF, V S Vadav told Kashmir Reader that his men don’t indulge in such activities. “It must be an old video of any other force. Our men are disciplined. They don’t break windowpanes or damage property,” he added.

Still doesn't seem any close to bombing the crap out of your own people. Time for reality check...

If it comes to posting videos propagating what you do & what we do, we can fill up threads after threads with such videos.

So lets put our houses in order first and leave the neighbor to deal with its own.

Shimla Agreement accepted whole J&K, which include Indian held kashmir, PAK held kashmir and Northern Area, which PAK dont want to tell its people and world. NE is part of J&K which pak separated and made independent state of PAK which is illegal.

Indian brutality in illegally occupied Kashmir is endless.
