Copy copy copy!!!

Someone working for Bollywood who steals a Pakistani song and claims its him/her who created the song and making millions out of it while not giving anything to the original Pakistani song writer/composer is WRONG.

Well sir I got your point and there is no point in rephrasing it in every post. Every one agrees that it is wrong. The point is what can be done about it? Do you have any solution? No one can do anything unless the affected party files a litigation, which you don't do.

Yes the Pakistani artists who had their songs stolen should go to their arch rival country to get justice

Also you have a shady law in your country that your fellow countryperson showed us in page 1...maybe your country made that law up so they can steal more Pakistani songs, well even to this day Bollywood steals Pakistani songs and tells the whole world its Indian.

Shady a$$ Bollywood!

I can't say that, but your movie/music industry is a multi-billion dollar industry mainly because you got over 1 billion people in your country. If Pakistan movie/music industry stole 1-2 Indian songs it doesn't compare to the dozens of Pakistani songs that are used in Indian films without the permission of the original artist, and I'm sure a multi-billion dollar industry like Bollywood can afford to pay these Pakistani artists but they dont. They steal their songs and then claim its Indian. You pay only few Pakistani artists for their songs but the majority of Pakistani artists dont get paid a single rupee and then the whole world who watches Bollywood thinks its Indian music when actually its 100% Pakistani.

Well stealing is stealing....you can't differentiate it by size.....yes our industry is big because of our size but you know that this size has also created some problem for us...my point is....there are individual people involved in this ...this happens every where in world.....instead of complaining Pakistan should try something to counter this...like filing the case in Indian court...yes it take time to get decision but again it bring truth in front of public(your one complaint is we don't know who is original artist)....it will make people think twice before again lifting some music from else where......I think artist in Pakistan has relized this also and they are working with bollywood
(Well I think few years down the line you will complain that Bollywood has stolen all the Pakistani artist using its money power ;-) <pun intended> )

Pakistani movie makers and singers couldn't really get away with stealing Bharatia work, as most people would have heard it anyway. On the other hand, many classical Pakistan films of the 50-70's have been copied in Bollywood. Plagiarism works, if the audience is not aware of the original being copied.

Well can you tell me the Indian films which are copies....Just curious....

If Pakistan would ever steal an Indian song we would never get away with it because everyone would have first heard the Indian song, but when a Pakistani song is in a Bollywood movie Indians think its a new tune and its Indian...just like when everyone in India thought "Agar Tum Mil Jao" was original and Indian they had no idea the original was sung in the 1960s by a Pakistani singer because your industry never gave credit to the original Pakistani singer.

Pakistani singers wont go to Indian courts because India made a shady law about it...see page 1 that your fellow countryperson showed us.

As for Bollywood stealing our singers...the only one that became Indian was Adnan Sami Khan and his mother was Indian so he doesn't count. Pakistani singers are too patriotic to leave the Pakistani music industry for Indian. Sure some Pakistani singers worked for Bollywood and got paid, but they never left Pakistan they would release their songs in London work with Indian producers and release their songs both in Pakistan and India and also sell their songs to Indian movies when asked. I have no problem with that as long as the original artist is paid.

If you think Pakistani artists will ever leave the Pakistani music industry for India and become Indian you are wrong. Watch this, I'm sure you understand Urdu. Listen to the interview at 7:22 when they talk about India.

you said that there might be incidence where Indian work has been lifted....

As can also turn your argument around...because nobody in india watched Pakistan Movies...so if they copy nobody in India know....and given your account the your movie industry is not strong people might not see the copy....also are saying that just know the original artist is enough or comenstation should be given...if its latter than even people of Pakistan know that Indian work is Copied, Indian are not getting there money too....

There should be strict laws in both countries on copyright. Well known Pakistani artists never copied Indian music...there were only 1 or 2 Indian songs but neither the singer who sang them or their music got successful in Pakistan because everyone knew they were Indian songs so the artists didnt become successful or got any recognition...but any money they make out of those songs (which is almost nothing because Pakistani people are smart enough to know its not a Pakistani song) they should give to the original Indian artist.

Its the total opposite in India. Indian movie/music industry stole dozens of Pakistani song and claimed it is Indian and claim Indian composer created the song, then the song becomes famous and the person who steals the song becomes rich. That needs to stop. If they paid the Pakistani singers for their songs and worked with them I would have no problem with a Pakistani song in an Indian movie but that doesn't happen much. Also Bollywood imports its movies all over the world and then people all over the world think the music is Indian when actually its a song stolen from none other than Pakistan.

Indian movies can be found everywhere in the world. Pakistanis live all over the world and then there were Indian channels in Pakistan also.

Well I asked for Pakistan....Well I will signoff from this thread...Befor I leave..

The way you sidesteped my question...you know the ans....Indian movies are not allowed..Gajni has not yet released on TV and people in Pakistan has seen this...

Whole point is yes bollywood is clulprit and If anybody wants to help the original artist than they have to come to India...and use the courts & media to make listener aware....

And that person will meet the plagiarist to make negotiations. If things can be settled outside courts, then it will be welcome. What do you think?

Bollywood movies are released in other Asian countries and some of them do sell it to some underground network in Pakistan ...Pakistanis can never get hold of those Bollywood films directly.

Dont pakistanis copy indian movies...?

If you mean lip singing and dancing to tunes..then yes we Pakistanis do that too but we have been doing that forever even before there were movies we used to that during the Mughal empire. As for songs, Pakistan hardly copied any of Indian songs very few (1-2) that didnt get famous because everyone knew it was Indian.

Pakistani singers have a lot of talent which is not appreciated much in the world unfortunately.

I meant copy as in dvd copies, pirate copies.....if its a question copyright law then are we not also breaking the law.....if the law exist in the first place.

There should be strict copyright laws in both countries. Some underground Pakistani networks get those pirated copies from other Asian countries and those behind them should be dealt with also but the stealing of Pakistani songs by Indian movies happen openly for decades and when we tell Indians thats not really an Indian song its a Pakistani song released long before the movie came out they get  and they dont believe you and they try to tell the whole world the song is Indian
