As for powering the Altay tank, did Turkey consider Ukraine for powerplant? Ukraine engines power Pakistan's Al-Khalid tanks. I believe Pakistan Army is quite happy with this engine. Also, Ukraine might be willing to transfer technology too.

Having 60% local components in all defense products is indeed a great achievement.

Nope, Turkey is not considering Ukrainian engines.

There were 3 countries, Japan (now ruled out due to export limitations), German and Austrian engine manufacturers.
