Well, SHW, your fat aunt bought many weapons systems and submarines from China. She refused an Indian weapons sales program to BD that could have given India a face. Khaleda is a more valuable Indian agent. Wrote letter to cancel BD's GSP facilities. During her time trade deficit with India increases...then she doesn't add electricity neither does infrastructure works....and actually retains a somewhat warm relation with India. I didn't pay much attention to politics back then in 2001-6. But I don't remember Bangladesh having a anything close to a Pakistan like relation with India. And her foreign policy is only limited to Pak and KSA......

There is nothing wrong with having a friendly relation with India. Good for BD and good for India as well. The problem is the relation is used too much in political arena. And we have a sizeable population who are pro India and a sizeable population who are anti India. Hasina targets pro India population in her speech, Khaleda targets anti India ones.

There was a military backed govt in BD from 2006-8. Anyone know their relationship with India? I don't know. Because they didn't talk about India neither they tried to use India for political gain. The relation was as usual. And the BD India relation remains 90% same no matter who is in power. Only 10% of it changes with govt. Hasina may give pro India statements and Khaleda(not she but her coalition partners) may make anti India comments but they relation mostly remains the same.
