Chinese soldier apprehended on Indian side of Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, probe underway

A Chinese soldier has been apprehended in area South of Pangong lake in early hours of Friday. According to the official sources, PLA soldier transgressed across LAC and was taken into custody by Indian troops.


As per Indian Army sources the Captured PLA soldier is being dealt with as per laid down procedures; circumstances under which he crossed LAC are also being probed.

"During early hours of 08 January 21, a Chinese soldier was apprehended on the Indian Side of the LAC, Ladakh, in the area South of Pangong Tso lake. The PLA soldier had transgressed across the LAC and was taken into custody by Indian troops deployed in this area, News Agency ANI said quoting the Indian Army.


Chinese Army soldier apprehended around the Rezang La heights area, Ladakh has been informed about their soldier in the Indian custody. Both sides are in touch over the issue.

Troops from either side are deployed along LAC since friction erupted last year due to unprecedented mobilization and forward concentration by Chinese troops. PLA soldier is being dealt with as per laid down procedures & circumstances under which crossed LAC, said Indian Army sources.

A Chinese soldier was captured by the Indian Army near Gurung hill in Chushul sector of eastern Ladakh on Friday. The PLA soldier will be returned to China later today or on Sunday after a thorough investigation.

Do Indians honestly think stray individual soldiers of the highly organised and tech savvy PLA will wander accidentally across one of the most desolate and arid ceasefire lines in the world?

These random individual soldiers who "stray" across into enemy territories are living GPS markers for future conflict. They're documenting your positions and gaining understanding of your facilities and weapons.

Keep serving tea to them while they quietly slice salami.
