What's new

Chinese FM Wang Yi scheduled to visit Dhaka tomorrow

Dude, rather than make flippant remarks try and argue your point as to why you disagree with someone.

Most of you guys are living in the past and that is why it is hard to take you lot seriously at times.
Its you who came with claim. Not me. The burden of proof is on you. 2 billion export to India dosent orove India has stopped having funny ideas about BD.

You forgot to mention that Imports from India also balooned massively. India continue to be the net benefactor, however way you make it. Its called leeching.

Look at the map and geography of eastern subcontinent. Based on borderlines and terrain, there is no way a prosperous BD is good for India. It may be if BD can be PROSPEROUS AND SUBDUED TO A MERE VASSAL, but NEVER PROSPEROUS AND INDEPENDENT.

Geography is what it is and it never negotiates.

Do you understand something called “comparative advantage” in economics?

Is BD a “leech” to USA as it has a massive trade surplus to it or China a “leech” to BD the other way round?

At least you wrote something this time but your knowledge and analytical capabilities leave a lot to be desired here.

.
Dude, given the hatred Hinduvta have towards Muslims - they will never have our back.

But they are sufficiently greedy to trade with us.

That’s all we need for a prosperous trading relationship.

Don’t mix business with pleasure.

You can make friends with 170 million Bangladeshis. Why do you fret about Indian as a foe?

If Israel can trade with Wahhabi Saudis - we can trade with India.
I agree. If India was solidly under Congress rule, then a mutually respectful relationship between India and Bangladesh can prosper. However under an increasingly powerful BJP ruled India, Bangladesh will forever be threatened by growing Hindutva irredentism.

But theres a difference. USA is not BD neighbor. BD in principle has nothing against leveling trade defecit with America, its just that US products are too expensive.

India on the othe hand, its not in their national interest to have a trade deficit with BD. Even if BD products were more competitive. Because India and BD compete to create same type of export industries. Thats Modis Make in India plan.

In South Asia, only Bangladeshis have moved beyond “historic grievances” and score settling culture that preoccupies our neighbours.

Which means Bangladeshis are going to focus like a laser on development this century.

Our neighbours will constantly see everything through the “security” and grievance lenses.

Which means they will keep radicalising their population and ferment hate.

That hate will eventually consume them.

Which is the reason why I believe @UKBengali and his optimistic forecasts.

We Bangladeshis have a date with destiny. Which is to reclaim our position as the leader of South Asia.

Let’s keep our head down and bury ourselves in books!

Brother some people rant about how much India loves us!

I would show them the fate of GOA and Hyderabad! Even Hindu nation sikkim was devoured by India.

Nowadays you can't annex a country with army !

You can annex it with fifth columnist; who will pretend to be patriot and will work for enemy like India.

First they will show anti Indian fake position , and then will show their true colors!

Bangladesh I'd already culturally partly annexed by India!

These fifth columnists will spread propaganda and that is we are superior nation ,so we can overcome all odds!

And in reality they will stub behind our back!

That would easy if we didn't have a bully like India
Agree !

By all mean i hope i am wrong but this is to put it mildly, very unlikely.

Here are my opinions - take them with a pinch of salt.

Because of AL propaganda, some people (and the AL propagandists and India shills here) are propagating falsehoods about the real state of Bangladesh. I have posted videos about patriot university professors here before who have openly stated that Bangladesh' economic state is very vulnerable and essentially a mirage (morichika). Apologies to @BananaRepublicUK - I will use his points.

1. Just because Bangladesh right now is not any geo-political or military camp does not mean it will be spared of any global geo-political tussle - especially ECONOMICALLY. we have seen the effects already where inflation was (and is still) causing havoc with food and gasoline prices. Not choosing a side will not save us. We will need to look at other factors to save us from economic shock with such a large population. Our economy is not RELATIVELY self-contained in a microcosm by itself, like India.

2. We may not be doing as badly as some African nations but minimum garments wages are still Tk. 5000 a month, GDP nominal better than India notwithstanding. Our base (bhit) is not strong (mazboot). We are dependent on foreign countries for exports to Walmart and Target which CAN and WILL get effected if there is a recession in the US and EU. Foreign countries can and do manipulate us. Like a famous Bengali once said, one cannot achieve industrialization by selling shirts and undies.

3. Not having extremism within the country only placates Indian Hindutva folks satisfied with keeping us under Delhi's thumb, global powers (including the big neighbor) can still play havoc with our economy and find ways to destabilize us, we have too many traitors and shills for other countries such as the neighbor. We sit around and are even too meek to identify these shills and foreign agents.

4. Our military establishment doesn’t have the loyalty of the general population anymore. As RAW has been totally successful to convert even the top echelon of all the armed services into Hasina-sycophancy and biding the dictat of India (Please watch the natija - no serious offensive fighter capability, Navy frigate builds stalled, minimal tank offensive capability, no offense all around in other words, we are a glorified Sikkim. Once in a while Hasina throws the armed services a few trainers and helis as dog bone). We have seen how partisan the top army person got dealing with contraband and helping AL convert the RAB and police into tools for a one-party police state - which got us sanctioned.

5. Bangladesh being a homogeneous society is no guarantee of strength against outside influence. Outside major powers have all sorts of other ways with which they can manipulate us. Let's just leave it at that.

So what if we have a trade deficit with India?

It’s actually a good thing.

Because we take their raw materials and sell it to the west at a premium.

We should import their mangoes so pran can export them as tinned and bottled products.

We can import their timber and turn them into furniture.

We should import their tea as well and export the processed stuff.

List is endless!!!

@Bilal9 Bhai , remember I posted an interview of Mr Abu rushd who is chief editor of defensejournal Bangladesh? That's only true military journal in Bangladesh!

He said several times with map ( in those 2 videos ) that why Bangladesh is strategically too important for super powers!

Since he is an ex military officer and solid journalist ( unlike BAL pa chata sold outs ) , I will always prefer his opinion when the case is geopolitics!

He knows way way better than PDF armchair Generals about geo politics!

Again this video! He also want balance between all sides , same as I do! He is not amateur like pinaky bhattachariya!

Although I want to join Chinese bloc only if we will have no other option but to choose one side , that's it!

I wrote many sharp analysis at past related to the bay of Bengal, china sea and malacca strait ( the chicken neck of China) , most have similarities with some of these professional analysis!

What I wrote about Ukraine war ,80% were proven true!

But today I was insulted by a compatriot, although my message wasn't directed to him, I mean I didn't quote his post. But he quote my post that was for UKbengali!

My post became word salad , because , my opinion, doesn't match him! According to him , I'm such a guy who is schooled by YouTube activists ( post #15) ; but you see from the beginning I have been opposing YouTubers, unless they have some good videos!

If we can't tolerate each other's opinion ,can't honor others opinion , can we be called civil people?

Bro!

Why are you so insecure?

You give Hinduvta too much credit.

These buggers cannot even hit a target in Pakistan. They hit trees and claim victory lol

You insult us by implying India can annex us like the pathetic Sikkim and tiny Hyderabad.

Even Pakistan, with full weight of “mighty USA” behind them, couldn’t cower us.

If India ever invades BD - it will end with the creation of greater Bangladesh.

You guys keep complaining about the garment wages - pray tell us how much, our ladies, with zero education, should be earning??!!!

Pls ignore the pseudo intellectuals and their YouTube videos.

Don’t listen unless they have a PhD from a Russell group uni.

"Post of the month award" goes to you from me Bhai. I couldn't have put it more succinctly.

Only a rabid India-shill will deny these basic facts. And these shills are most probably backstabbers or false-flaggers.

These trade issues have nothing to do with people-to-people relations with Indians.

But these trade issues are still REAL and need to be far more even-keeled for long-term relations between our countries to be better.

Only a few reasons why these issues continue.

1) Indian govt. is selfishly occupied with preserving their trade status quo in Bangladesh (massive exports to our market) to the detriment of our economic growth. We will forever be dependent on Indian imports for even the most basic items like FMCG products.

2) They have twisted Hasina's arms to put key people in our commerce ministry, headed by Tipu Munshi (himself with possible Indian ancestry and of course connections with Assamese and WB leaders) who manipulates our tariff structure to allow unbridled Indian imports.

3) Indian govt. keeps on giving us lip-service about allowing Bangladesh exports to their market which can easily support even a dozen times of what they take in now. But real story is the opposite. They will accept imports from other countries, but not Bangladesh next door, even though our exports may be way cheaper. This is a strategic policy to keep us weak continually. Khawabey kintu nijey khabena.

4) With Hasina's help, Immigration ministry looks the other way and lets illegal Indian workers siphon tens of Billions of dollars every year from our hard-earned remittance coffers to India. Our reserve should have been $80 Billion instead of the $40 Billion we have now. Why is the Govt. short on reserves, this is one MAJOR, MAJOR reason.

5) Bangladesh is the third or fourth largest remittance source to India. Do you see any gratitude from India because of this? Gratitude comes in the form of a middle finger shown.

This is such fake superiority complex given to us that we are invincible! @Bilal9 Bhai , look at this part!

Actually no one fight and di.e alone!

In Ukraine Russia war , the whole west is fighting for Ukraine ,still can't prevent Russia from annexing part of Ukraine!

So how we can be so sure that India can't annex us via fifth columnists?

Indeed they can. As already Bangladesh is cultural colony of India.

Indian dirty serials are family destroyer ,even Mamata banarjee said so!

So still what's the reason of superiority complex that India can't annex any part of us?

Since India and it's shills used to say that we even don't need an armed forces ; at least strong armed forces?

So that they can start invasion by spreading false propaganda that we abuse Hindus in Bangladesh?

Don't we remember how the words of Priya Saha affected the reputation of Bangladesh?

Don't we see Quran on Hanuman feet triggered mass riot? Thankfully we controlled it.

Who was behind them? Indeed India! Still some people can't ( or don't want to ) open their eyes!

Nowadays war aren't fought with arms only ( unless it's absolutely necessary) , nowadays enemy create many Lendup Darjee inside a country who later compromise sovereignty!

In sikkim there was only one Lendup Darjee ,while Bangladesh is full of many many Ledup Darjee!

So spreading fake superiority complex by some people isn't their love for Bangladesh.

Either they are brainwashed by fifth columnists , or they are part of them, period!
