Chinese city apologises after 'shaming' people for wearing pyjamas in public

Mixed feelings about this. It's scary Orwellian shit but at the same time, a lot of Chinese people act like trash. Hope it cuts down on spitting and cutting lines.

.
Chinese are slaves. I said in another thread and one Chinese vehemently denied it.

But then reality comes out.

I actually pity the Chinese. They've taken Xi Jinping as their Pharaoh and now are at the mercy of his whims and desires.

Much like the North Koreans.

You can't help but feel pity for them.

.
Luckily it had been pushed back and the local gov now knows it's a no-go zone.

A lot racist clowns in this thread.
I don't want to bad mouth on you, but seriously look at those flags, I wonder which of you have rule of law and modern civilized society in your country?
And yet you think you are in high ground to look down Chinese, even monkeys are smarter than you.

.
they are going to adopt several levels of Constitutional Review system targeting this phenomenon (though I think the major motivation is to cut down autonomy of lower level governments).

Just a view point for reference as a Chinese law student.

Would that be good for a country as large as China? What's your opinion on it as a Chinese law student?

.
The problem is that you guys have no idea of the political and constitutional structure of China. The public shaming act as mentioned has nothing to do with a totalitarian authority's command in a nation as a whole. It's the local government under its autonomy undertaking this act.
Actually it is quite common for lower level governments to violate constitution or the existing status in the local administration. That's where the system in china is rather inmature than intended evil. If you guys have read the report of 19th CCP assembly, they are going to adopt several levels of Constitutional Review system targeting this phenomenon (though I think the major motivation is to cut down autonomy of lower level governments).

Well, I think it's not the "Shaming" bits that caught people attention. I mean, provincial government can Fat-Shame or Slut-Shame anyone they want, which actually many people or group are already doing in the West.

The thing that caught people eyes is they use the ID card, which is a National System, which mean you have to have access to the National System to do that, and that is the abuse of the National ID system in all level. I mean I don't suppose China have an ID Card system so government can shame them, right?

Just a view point for reference as a Hong Kong Law Student.

The permission management process of these digital systems must be in mess at the moment.
Since these system (including surveillance system) built up so quickly, I expect such incidents will happen a few more time until the gov realize and implement such process.

I have a friend in gov, he told me currently there is process to manage/prevent individual access into these system without grant.
But I'm pretty sure this process can't prevent such cases in this news.

.
:devil::devil:
You did not understand a thing of what I said and meant.

It is not the clothing, but the behaviour and mindset.

Nothing is going to get worse for Chinese people. They are smart and organised. The state has the responsibility of keeping their masses sharp and professional.

Why are you hiding your flags? What is your purpose?
My purpose is world domination you got me and when you’re my peasant I’ll make your wear pyjamas everyday :devil::devil:

.
I like this attitude of Chinese. Punctual and professional.

The Chinese didn't reach their success by wearing pajamas.

We know that nations that walk around in pajamas haven't achieved anything. They lecture others about human rights and what not, but they are zero in the field of science, tech and trade.
Shut your dumb a$$ up fool

Well, still, there is no excuse. When you design a surveillance system, the very first question you need to ask is why is it for. That include the limit and prescription of the system, for example, do you want to keep track on people movement? Or do you want to prevent crime, those two have different requirement. You cannot just go ahead and build a surveillance system just like that, without considering the use of technology.

The problem is however, China do not have a good track record on keeping people Privacy, and this abuse of the system is just going to add fuel into fire, notice that this time, it is not even a protest on the international level, but a local protest forcing the province government to come out and apologise, and that in itself says a lot.

.
So the state will now decide what people wear and don't as long as its not indecent or walking naked?

I wonder what's it like to live and breathe in an open air prison and not even know one is living in a prison.

The state always decides on what's indecent, and there pajamas fell into that category.

Why is it that then that Hijab is considered oppression of the highest order but this is okay?

Lol, hypocrisy

Of course there is no excuse.
I'm just pointing out the fact that this is how China gov works at the moment.
This is an unfavorable fact, like I said, don't expect a sudden improvement. It will be improved to certain level after a few more incidents and back and forth in my opinion.

We are still way behind developped western countries in terms of rule of law in China. It is disappointing but a fact we need to accept.
However that doesn't mean any shitty countries have the high ground to point fingers on China like those clowns did int his thread.

.
I guess my chaddi banyaan look is blasphemous in China.

That is just rude China.

Rudeness is not a god gifted talent i must add.

Sorry your people are more than happy to come and live here:
Fortunately those people are not like you together with those pathetic trolls from bangladesh who want to turn his country into a beggar land like this:
We do not need your 'pity':rofl::rofl:... Just make sure you will not be laughed at by your countrymen who have been here, and see you as a big big moron... LMAO....

Officials argued that residents were banned from wearing pyjamas in public because the region was entering a national “civilised city” competition.

Other “bad behaviour” exposed by the local government online included “lying [on a bench] in an uncivilised manner” and handing out advertising flyers.
Win the competition means billions of $ in prize money for the city, and the local government takes some extreme measures like such... It is wrong, hence the apology.
Everything has two sides, the main function of the security cameras are to make China safer. The crime rate become one of the lowest, and the traffic more ordered.... While the shameless west media of course won't tell you that without cameras, CIA knows everything about its citizens, such as how long your penis measure... LMAO...
