What's new

Chinese bomber exercise affirms air-defence identification zone, penetrates Second Island Chain

you ignore my mention about escort?
KH101 KH55 is something new?
Russian Tu 16 and D30 engines, simply obsolete to Russia, and to USA. That's why I recommend another platform, even Tu22M3 is better.
Exercise without escort is ok but what the actual attack going on without escort?
F15J would grin at the interception. F18 and F35C also could engage anytime.
the launch of max 7 slow cruise missiles at high altitude x 8 H6K is more meaningful than 154 tomahawk launched from 1 sub anywhere in ECS or nearby?

Japan Air Force? So what!

Japan currently has about 200 F15, but only 1/3 of them could launch BVRAAM. Compared to China, even the upgraded J8II have BVR capability, needless to say other more advanced J10, J11, J15, J16.

What's more, Japan's F15 fleet is really really OLD! The first F15 joined Japan military in 1981! These "grandpa" F15J is frequently reported "some components fall to ground when F15J is flying"! Needless to say fly, do you dare to drive a car that may have similar issue, some components fall to the road when driving at high speed, do you dare to drive such a car?

The more Chinese fighters/bombers sent to the disputed areas for exercise, the frequent the F15J taking off for monitoring, hence more F15J life consumed. China can make the fighter and bombers in large scale by our own, but can Japan do the same??

Here is some Japanese news about the "components falling" issues of F15J. The highlighted Chinese character "落" means "fall".

What's worse for Japan is that it lacks the capability to renewal its old fleet! Since the last F2 put to service in 2011, there has been almost five years that Japan doesn't have any new fighters! And such embarrassment will continue until the first F35 arrives in about 2020. But at that time, the J20 of China has already been ready!

Japanese is familiar with similar verbal attack from North Korea, you know.
So you mean China's military force is in the same level to North Korea? The 2nd Artillery of China is the same to the Strategic Force of North Korea?

Same level of threaten verbal attack as "Flatten Japan airbases"

. . . .
China is large and Chinese aircrafts are outdated. That's why China is trying to build a lot of new aircrafts. But in relative, China didn't build so many aircrafts compare to their need.

And no Chinese aircraft could surpass Japan F-15J ability at this moment.

The modified Tu-16 with D30 engines are outdated too, that's why Russia scrapped that type.

Wow, the global 2nd largest country in terms of fleet sizes of the 3rd-generation fighters (China classification system, or F16/Su-27 alike) is commented as "outdated", how we make comments on the Air Forces of other countries?

If you are talking about the capability to throw own parts on the head of the enemies, yes, I agree, no Chinese aircraft could surpass Japan F-15J ability.

The key power of H6K is not coming from its engines, but coming from the six CJ-10 cruise missiles that it carried. The missiles own a range 2000~3000km, which means H6K could launch the missiles on top of the inner land of China to bomb Japan. In such a scenario, who cares the performances of D30 engines?? Yeah, this is a too cruel fact for you to admit.

To explain why China trying their best to build new aircrafts. Let start at 1990, what China has ?
Nowaday China still use J6, J7, J8, and of course Tu-16

J-10 is quite new but the crash rate is significant compare to new built.

Er... modified Tu-16 could bring some cruise missiles and air launch them at high altitude. But 6 of small payload at subsonic speed, with unproven range. They are basically useless to land attack.

What's the meaning for "Let start at 1990, what China has"?

Do you mean that for a potential war in short future, Japan could use whatever it has, but China could only use the weapons that it developed before 1990??

Mean Japan has their modern aircraft earlier,
China now try hard to build new ones.

Let compare how larger China to Japan, how many advanced aircrafts China has ?
J-11xx, Su 27, 30 ...J-10 ?
vs F-15J and F-2

or you think China only confront Japan ? how about Russia ? India ? USA ? Taiwan ?

The F15J fleet was a great power in Asia in 1980s' or 1990s'. Even today, it is still a mighty power in front of North Korea or Vietnam. But compared it to China? Come on, only blind or low-IQ guys would still believe that Japan owns air force superiority against China.

Japan owns about 200 F15J and 60 F2.
China owns about 750 3rd generation fighters (source: Rand):
- J10 x 300
- J11 x 340
- SU30/J16 x 100
- J15 x 10

Besides the current fleet size, what's important is that China keeps producing new fighters, about 30 J10s per year and 40 J11s per year, which means China only needs less than four years to replicate another Japanese Air Force, but much newer, capable of BVR missiles, and installed with better electronics stuff.

And, you think Japan only confronts China? How about Russia, North Korea, South Korea?

North Korea aircrafts and China J-10 are hard to air attack Japan.
South Korea, Taiwan in Japan ally side.
More important US would protect Japan

I like your tone! I want every Vietnam to believe China's military equipment is unproven and useless!! Pls try to persuade all the VN people you know that the Chinese military is "unproven and useless"!!

small warheads can't do much, you know. plus, slow speed. plus high altitude launch

Mmm, small warheads can't do much, you know. plus, slow speed. plus high altitude launch
why are you laughing at the Tomahawk of US?

BTW, if one day Vietnam could develop its own CJ10 missiles, I guess you will brag it to be the most powerful stuff on the world!
