What about the cost ? Cost of land in horizontal farming is very low whereas other items are almost free. Items like water air humidity etc ...

Cost is never going to be comparable to arable farming.

Vertical Farming existed as long as Hydroponic existed since 1600. Most of the world vertical farming today are Hydroponics. Which you don't use soil and dirt to farm, you use water gel or bead like substance that hold waters and nutrients instead of using dirt and soil and compo.

There are 2 issue with Vertical Farming. 1.) Vertical Farming is very resource intensive, because you would need the same substance and nutrient in each and everyone of them and you can't rely on gravity and nature to provide them (say you cannot use sunlight to do Hydroponic, you have to use artificial light source 2.) Vertical Farming only have low yield of crop.

Most of these Vertical Farming site are more or less Hobby farming or when arable land is lacking (like in the desert) It's not financial stable if you solely depend on crop yield.

Thanks, i was of the same opinion, however it can be great opportunity to produce specialzed high value herbs that has substatntial but can be produced in a certain conditions only ... do u have any such data ? I always wonder that hydroponic and controlled farming can always be used if sales value of the product cultiavted is higher than its cost
