There are many ways to look at the global picture on emissions and climate change. A Tuesday report from the International Energy Agency says the globe is on pace for disastrous temperature rises nearing 4 degrees Celsius, thanks to a projected 20 percent increase in emissions by 2035. An increasing portion of those emissions are coming from the developing world, as National Journal noted Monday, as countries like China and India industrialize and outpace the carbon output of the U.S. and E.U. Bloomberg has another takeaway from that report:

China will build more renewable power plants through 2035 than the European Union, U.S. and Japan combined.... The share of energy sources including hydropower, biomass, wind, and solar in world electricity supply will rise above 30 percent in that period, "drawing ahead of natural gas in the next few years and all but reaching coal as the leading fuel for power generation in 2035."

It's worth remembering that China's emissions per capita are still less than many developed countries, and its dramatic carbon spikes are largely a function of its rapid industrialization combined with massive population. Essentially, its actions on climate—whether in the form of toxic coal pollution or large-scale investment in renewable energy—are magnified to a huge degree.

Probably because the US, Europe and west of the world is going on the other direction - Bio fuel cell

US, German, Japan and SK is the 4 most dominant Bio-fuel technology research in the world, which Chinese invest in alternative energy in the form of renewable energy source, we run the other alternative energy path, bio fuel cell. Namely hydrogen fuel cell

The west solely build the renewable energy to Appeased the right wing environmentalist, so that they will shut up about solar panel

I heard about the hydrogen cars, but from what I can gather they are a ways away.

Way to expensive for the common man, or even a moderately rich man.

Actually FCX Clarity were already in road test stage and Honda say they are projecting a mass production at 2018, selling them 75,000 to 85,000 a pop.

Currently you can rent one in EU, Japan and southern CA, for $600 a month, that include all insurance, AAA and fuel. It is not uber expensive like you say

Bullshit...where does hydrogen come from ? You need energy to produce it...

Water my friend. 2 parts hydrogen, one part oxygen. You clearly have no idea how a hydrogen fuel cell works.

.
Oh boy...yep that's water, not hydrogen, you need energy to separate oxygen and hydrogen...then you get that energy back when they get together again to create water...hydrogen fuel cell is only a way to stock energy, like a battery, it doesn't produce anything.

maybe I'm behind the times, the last I heard a few years ago was it was going to be 400,000+ for one.

That's a lambo dude.

But then again, the car was from BMW, not from Honda. But 80,000 for a Honda? I won't drive one if they paid me.

From the first link : "The other electrochemical device that we are all familiar with is the battery. A battery has all of its chemicals stored inside, and it converts those chemicals into electricity too. This means that a battery eventually "goes dead" and you either throw it away or recharge it."

Low IQ Indian...

Hydrogen fuel cell is just like a battery, the energy it gives you is the energy you gave it. Because you need energy to produce hydrogen from water. And then it gives you that energy back when oxygen and hydrogen create water.

I can't believe that malnourished guy with an
underdeveloped brain is trying to argue with me...

lol you still need energy to produce hydrogen..

A) You don't "produce" hydrogen, you merely separate the hydrogen molecules from the oxygen molecules.

B) I know that fuel cells need energy input. Just like any other form of energy generation. It is impossible to create energy. But the idea is that the energy output > energy input.

Far out, some people shouldn't have skipped their high school science classes.

Holy lord, I'm going to kill myself. You must have skipped science class.

YES, a Hydrogen fuel cell works in the same way as a typical fuel cell (widely known as a battery, but batteries are actually a collection of fuel cells).

BUT they use a process called electrolysis (Google it you dumbshit) to generate a chemical reaction.

Science for retarded high school dropouts by kbd-raaf:

1) Yes, one of the inputs is hydrogen. Using electrolysis, you can separate 2H2O(l) = 2H2(g) + O2(g). The process of electrolysis is when electricity is introduced to water through two electrodes, a cathode (negative) and an anode (positive), the H2+ and O2- ions are attracted to the opposite charged electrode. Then the positively charged hydrogen ions collects on the cathode and the negatively charged oxygen will collect on the anode. This requires energy input.

2) A hydrogen fuel cells also has two electrodes, an anode and a cathode. Now the H2 atoms that we separated in step 1 goes and fricking reacts with the anode causing it to lose electrons. Now these electrons travel into a circuit (THUS GENERATING AN ELECTRIC CURRENT) and reacting with the cathode which is also being bathed in oxygen ALSO GENERATED IN STEP 1. THIS CREATES HYDROXYL molecules which then moves through the electrolyte (usuallyKOH) and then reacts with the ANODE and goes on to PRODUCE WATER.

There we have it renewable energy. It's just that right now it is not nearly as efficient as non-renewable sources. THAT IS WHY SCIENTISTS ARE STILL DOING RESEARCH ON IT.

This diagram will help you visualise it.

You will ALWAYS need energy to produce energy. You cannot fricking create energy, otherwise you'd be violating the Laws of Conservation of Energy.

As to being malnourished; I bet that my arms are bigger than your legs and far stronger too.

Poor guy...

A- oh god...oxygen molecules... My head hurts...the irony is too powerful...he tries to correct someone...but then he makes that mistake...

B- Hahahaha.

Is he serious ?

.
I don't know what to say...he basically googled hydrogen fuel cell, he read the fifth link, and then tried to fool us..god isnt he pathetic...and at the end he just adds "And that's why it is renewable"...

The step 1 requires more energy than the step 2 can deliver. What's so hard to understand ? If we had abundant resources of pur hydrogen it would be renewable, but we dont, so we need energy to produce it (yes, produce hydrogen, there's nothing wrong here), so the hydrogen fuel cell is renewable if the energy used to produce the hydrogen is renewable, that's all.

Shit it's like I'm trying to prove eating a fish does not transform you into a goat, it doesn't even makes sense...
