China’s New Submarine Is Unlike Anything In Western Navies

of course, if it looks like a sub it has to be a copy.. LMAO....

They copied even the smallest details like where specific things are attached. They copied the outside structure but obviously could not copy the fuel cell technology so they chose the cheaper battery option.

I am sure you were inside the sub and saw even the serials were copied... LMAO.... what next, they copied qubits too.

At a root level, all modern submarines will nowadays start to look the same from the exterior.

They will have smoothly blended trapezoidal sails, multi-blade screw propellers, diving aileron-like devices (sometimes foldable) and a tapered nose with torpedo-tube openings. The goals of all designs from all countries are the same, quietness while moving in depth underwater. In that sense - designs will be more or less similar.

Just like all recent mid-size airliners (like B787 and A350) have two wings, two engines and three tails. If you get to the inside details, things are radically different.

I don't agree that the Chinese are incapable of developing fuel cell technology for submarine propulsion. I am guessing you have never been to China - which figures. They have moved on from simply copying Western designs (in anything).

You are welcome to your opinions, but if you are not a submarine or naval craft designer (which I doubt you are) then the less criticism offered, the better it is.

I don't think he knows.

B787 and A350 are two fundamental different designs. The chinese submarine looks like a complete copy of the german submarine even down to smallest details. Only mayor difference is, that china uses cheap batteries for propulsion. Batteries release heat. Heat that can get detected.

Proud greeks is here
Just wait a week or two, he'll be banned. Funny thing about the 'proud' part I've noticed: If he has nothing else to boast about Greece(not that it has much to boast about), he'll just fall back to his 'proud European identity' and boast about German tech etc etc.

How the hell do you already know the technology present in the sub that just got revealed?

I issued my opinion. Live with it. You can agree or disagree.

Analysis by H I Sutton; Someone in the OSINT community has dubbed it the “Olympics Class”

IMHO, if this sub is a single hull, and it is used for littoral combat, it could be used for hit and run attacks in the first island chain; especially if made out of titanium (which could make it very fast). With the use of lithium ion batteries it could possibly maintain that exceptional speed for a significant amount of time. If it is small it could be built in considerable numbers.

Nice 100% copy of german dolphin class submarines.

The chinese sub is a copy of that, it just has not the advanced fuel cell tech that the germans use.

I like how you made all of that up from this blurry 100 pixel wide photo

That shows such "specific" things as
  • the upper half of a black tube with curved ends
  • a curved sail with a mast
  • straight inlets coupled with frontal diving planes that don't exist in this combination on German Dolphin subs its suppose to be "100% copied from"
  • a vertical backfin that doesn't exist on German Dolphin subs its suppose to be "100% copied from"
as if you'd ever say that about the dozens of other submarines fitting that description
