Very colonial. That's understandably Indian concept of luxury, along with their "white servants".

No it not collonial but traditional. Actually, what Chinese calls laxury is not laxury but what they call laxury is borrowed from their white masters.

No no. Anything Chinese is always best but we call something like Laxury. Just a difference in definition.

It is cheaper than airline business class, which means its for the masses, for tens of millions of business travelers at most, with sufficient luxury. Sure, you have one or two 'palace on wheels', but 99.999999999999% of your trains look like this:

White masters? Come on, you are the last bunch to say that words...LMAO...
We follow the international trend, we use what works for us. e.g., people wear suits or jackets instead of robes today. It is convenient for most occasions. You should not B.S. here to cover your shithole land's incompetence.

why can't China still design a train's interior ?
Why this lack of confidence in your own abilities ?
its not as if its complex like a jet engine.
It’s about prestige and yeah it’s a stupid mentality

Indian luxury trains are the best. All the commuters get to sit on top of the train talk about fresh air and smell of open sewerage!

Ohhh so you call this one a laxury train?? Ok fine.
It's not about luxurious buy the speed and stability. Making a luxurious train has zero technology involved. Any tom dick harry with money can make it.

But to make a train go 350km/h while as stable as slow strode on park. Not anybody can do it.

This is the first time Tangerine company is contracted to design the interior. The other interiors of the last 10 years of Chinese high speed rail interiors were all Chinese designed.

Indian brains can't understand it's okay to contract a foreign company. Everyone does it wherever they see fit and whenever they want. Immediate conclusion from Indians is China can't design it's own interiors lol. Even though every other HSR interior is designed by Chinese companies. Suddenly it's not okay for China to work with and employ foreign firms and people? lol how little of how the world works these Indians understand. No wonder 70 years later these guys are still riding on the top of trains. Slumdog dollaraire judging and criticizing endlessly.

Is that why American companies have contracted Swedish architects? Does that mean Americans cannot design buildings at all? Why do global shipping companies contract Chinese shipbuilders to engineer design and build their ships? I guess none of those countries can design ships either.

Designed by Tangerine, the world’s leading airline interior design firm, is the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics train. This thing of beauty changes the way we perceive train travel featuring an assortment of seating options coupled with an attractive color palette inspired by Chinese heritage.

The astounding business class is equipped with 18 lie-flat seats. It’s not an exaggeration to say these bear a striking resemblance to the luxe seats onboard the premium Etihad or Singapore Airlines. The high-speed marvel is developed especially to transport sportspeople, media personnel, and fans from Beijing to the ski center in Zhangjiakou.

The space is designed to appear like a private booth done up as a leather-clad recliner flanked by a large television screen, a folding timber-look tray table, a seat-side storage compartment, and a reading lamp.

According to Executive Traveller, the project was led by Tangerine China director Weiwei He. He says the references to the aviation industry were deliberate, with China Rail aiming to deliver a comparative experience to regional airlines.

Speaking with DesignWeek, He explained, “The price is comparatively cheaper than business class flying and offers a better experience than on narrow body airlines – more space, better seat comfort, bigger storage provision, and a quieter, more private environment. Compared with a regional two- or three-hour flight, the high-speed train can offer a cheaper, greener, and more convenient journey in about the same time.”

The interiors look striking with a sporty winter look incorporating motifs like snowflakes, icicles, and snow carvings. The warm celebratory red color palette resulted from the games coinciding with the Chinese New Year.

The train includes a restaurant besides VIP carriages and is equipped with a bar and media center. The media center plays a vital role for passengers to enjoy sporting events on large television screens while nestling on sofa-like lounge seating for comfort.

The business class seats are outfitted with wireless charging, personal screens, and secure seat-side luggage stations. What more? These lie-flat seats can rotate! The completion of the 2022 Winter Games doesn’t mean you can’t experience the Winter Olympics train; the train is still up and running in regular rotation.

Einstein once said "I wonder what the world would look like if I sit on a motorbike and travel at the speed of light".

I wonder what the outside looks like when you look out of the window travelling in this train at 350-km / hour.

Your Indian luxury train looks like from last century, no much modern high tech elements seen. besides, Chinese high speed trains are super cheap, everyone can afford riding them like a public bus, can every average India afford riding this Indian train on regular basis? and how fast is this Indian luxury train? 40KM/ per hour?

its a very ordinary experience. because the acceleration is so smooth that the feeling of speed is absent.
In Comparison , taking off and landing in a passenger plane are 'experiences' which never get old, specially if its a rough landing.

While it may seem strange, outsourcing interior design to European companies is not uncommon. European (especially London based) design companies are reputed to come up with stylish contemporary designs that will age well. Combining simplicity, functionality and elegance is not easy. It is one thing to do interior design of your home, quite another thing to do it with industrial products. Aesthetics may look like something easy to achieve, but it is not.

pl dont fib.
50 % of Chinese still take low speed trains because of economic reasons.

Where did you get this story? You India media? HSR is super cheap in China, I never know anyone who can't take one and non HSR now is very hard to find, where would you go to take them even if you want? Now it's the year 2022, do you really have to post a video from 2018 to make a point?

agreed but if you don't start , you will never learn.
At some stage copying and relying on others has to be stopped.
China has done well in copying western designs but the next stage is originality.

Check the affordability and availability part of China's HSR in this video
