China-U.K. spat over Dalai Lama-Cameron meeting

A senior Chinese leader has cancelled a planned visit to Britain after Prime Minister David Cameron met the Dalai recently ignoring Beijing's warning that any such meeting would have “serious consequences” for U.K.-China relations.

Wu Bangguo , chairman of the standing committee of China's National People's Congress, is on a tour of Europe and was scheduled to pay a “brief but symbolic” visit to Britain.

China's Foreign Ministry was reported as saying that Mr. Cameron's meeting with the Dalai Lama had “seriously interfered with China's internal affairs” and amounted to support for his campaign for Tibet's independence. Mr. Cameron and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg met the Dalai Lama earlier this month when he was here to receive the Templeton Prize.

Britain's ambassador to Beijing was summoned by the Chinese Foreign Ministry and told that the meeting had damaged relations between the two countries.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman called on Britain to “stop conniving at and supporting separatist attempts to achieve Tibetan independence”.

The British embassy in Beijing called the cancellation of Mr. Wu's decision as a matter of “regret''. His visit, it said, would have been “a good opportunity to continue deepening U.K.-China relations”.

“We would welcome future visitors from the National People's Congress to strengthen the UK-China dialogue,” a spokesman said.

Downing Street said the Dalai Lama was “an important religious figure” who had met previous British Prime Ministers.

It's not about the Dollar Lama. China complains as a friendly government, the UK shouldn't give a platform to one of her dissident groups.

In 2008 she called off a major European summit because Nicholas Sarkozy, then French president, was due to meet the DollarLama.

indians defending their white colonial master. surprise surprise.
indians love to lick that rectum of their white masters dont they.

china dont need the UK for anything.
its the UK and their companies that need the chinese consumer markets.

the brits still think they are important in this world and run an empire. they and their colonial slaves like indians might worship the white race but the reality is britain is irelevant to this world.

i tell you what, if china put restrictions on british companies access to the chinese consumer market, there wont ever be a meeting with that religious terrorist.

there will be enormous pressure from british corporations on their regime to not meet with that terrorist in fear of losing business in china.

just look at how we restricted bananas from philippines and stopped big spending chinese tourists going to the philippines and their president immediately wanted talks.

the UK is in recession and most of the growth of their corporations comes from china, pretty much from every industry. and if we put even the slightest economic sanctions of them, watch them crumble under our pressure.
we can squeeze their balls until the goo comes out of them.

we can tell the british regime, you either choose to do business with china (which is the 3rd largest consumer market overall and 1st or 2nd largest in certain industries) or you choose to have a relationship with a terrorist.

its either china or the terrorist.
choose!

if the chinese government took this approach i guarantee there wont be any future meeting with that religious terrorist.

we need to use our economic leverage over these bankrupt countries to get our way.
we play too much of a nice guy. fcuk being nice, nice guys finish last. we need to be ruthless.

And it's China isolating itself from the rest of the world, whose only friends are Syria, Iran, Pakistan, and Robert Mugabe.
