This is not an issue of media freedom, but rather an issue of hatred.

its not issue of hatred. lot of news channels have come up in last 7-10 yrs. there is so much competetion among channels to increase their TRPs that they try to sensationalise matters. be it a small town killing or any statement from china( just an example). i think, indian news channels lack maturity in reporting. i think the media is still in building up phase. so these problems will persist.

hongkong and US media houses are running for seeral decades now and system seems to have stabilised there. i think indian media too will take time to stabilise till then the sensationalisation of reports is likely to continue.
