Not at all. India didn't annex any territory that it gained even after loosing lives in a war. India has not tried to annex Sri Lanka or Bangladesh, after liberating it. India does not have a ridiculous claim of the Indian ocean like the Chinese claim the SCS, nor does it want 1/6th of the Artic, like China would like to have just because they have 1/6th of the world's population.

This is possible because of a democratic government that is elected into power. No dictators and one-party governments. No military coups. How many more reasons do you want?

US sanctions don't mean much. I mean they tried santions in 1998! Didn't work. They tried it and removed it. India's issue is the gas turbine engine, SAME issue that mighty China with infinitely more GDP and Tech struggles with. India has only recently started purchasing US gear and most of it (so far) has been transport or recon type stuff. No F18/F16IN, both were kicked outa the MMCRA. So i am not sure what you mean. China does not need USA but it needs to steal US tech and repaint it with red. Every laboratory espionage so far, its a chinese origin person, coming to the USA and backstabbing the US. That's right, US stuff is not worth China's time. While that is going on, they will buy Russian engines, use it and criticize it while they have no alternative. China loves to copy. Look at NORINCO, they are better replica makers than designers. By that logic, china always has to wait for the original design to come out from somewhere right?

The day India passes China in population could very well be the day the US places sanction on India and starts selling military hardware to China. F-16CN and F-35CN and what not. But China don't need the US no more. China has its own J-20, J-31, J-10B.
