China party expels general who killed self, indicts another

.
Killing himself won't protect his family. If his family has his stolen assets then the government will come after them too.

That's generally not how it works.

Typically officials who have fallen from grace can be publicly humiliated and relegated to the dregs of society. The family will ideally be put on house arrest and sent to some countryside forever.

In simple terms, every single member of the CCP in the upper echelons is corrupt. Xi himself is much more corrupt that the 2 Generals. Kicking people out is simply politics.

You see, if China "observers" were a little bit more observant and intelligent, they would understand that Xi Jinping is profoundly changing how "it works". The most far-reaching and profound change in the 19th Party Congress wasn't the abolition of presidential term limits (a ceremonial office in any case); it was the establishing of the National Supervisory Commission, an organ with broader powers of detention and interrogation of non-Party members.

The corrupt scum and those who succor them are in for a very rude surprise. Not even death can save them from the law.

Of course. All those who Xi does not like will be the target of this commission.

Dude, you guys have no idea what communism is.

You leave ceremonial offices alone because they are largely symbolic. They are inspirational instead of administerial. A ceremonial office is like a 'minister without portfolio', meaning a person with the title of minister but with no actual responsibilities. Since altering them would have no real effects on the functions of governance, most of the time, governments leave these ceremonial positions alone.

That mean changing the Chinese constitution to allow Xi to serve indefinitely does NOT his office is merely ceremonial.

The guy above this post who claims he knows communism since he lives in one tried to convince me only last week that the Chinese Social Credit System is a brilliant idea and all Chinese are eager for it.

Hi, are you trying to convince people like me to believe you know more about the ground reality in China than a local? Is that not as irrelevant as asking a virgin for sex techniques?
