China opposes Israel's settlements construction in occupied Palestinian territory: envoy

China resolutely opposes the construction of settlements by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territory and supports the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people, Chinese Ambassador to the UN Li Baodong said at the UN headquarters in New York, the United States, Friday.

In the explanatory remarks after a Security Council voting on a UN draft resolution condemning Israeli settlement activities, Li expressed regret that the draft resolution wasn't adopted.

The United States, a permanent Security Council member, vetoed the draft resolution. All the other 14 Council members voted in favor of the draft resolution, co-sponsored by more than 120 UN members.

Li said at present, Israel's continuation of settlements construction has become a major obstacle to the mutual trust and resumption of the peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis.

"China resolutely opposes the construction of settlements and the separation wall by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territory including West Bank and East Jerusalem. We also resolutely support the legitimate demands of the Palestine people," Li said.

China has always maintained that on the basis of the relevant UN resolutions, the principle of "land for peace," the Arab Peace Initiative and the Road Map for the Middle East peace, Palestine and Israel should conduct dialogue and negotiations to settle differences so as to eventually establish an independent state of Palestine with two countries living side by side in peace, Li said.

China supports the Security Council playing its due role in the Middle East peace process. "We also hope that the Quartet meeting to be held on the Middle East question will achieve a positive outcome and will help to break the current stalemate in the peace process," Li said.

Every single country but the USA, this is how it always was and will be. Unless USA decides to betray Israel and abstain in which case Israel will offer Russia/China something far more valuable than Muslim Oil and then people will say China/Russia always veto`s on Israel`s behalf etc etc.

Whats wrong is that they are a terrorist group, and if you think of them in any other way then we have nothing more to discuss. Palestinian suffering is their own doing, for trying to destroy us multiple times, failing, and then asking for mercy when they would show us none. And yes France can Veto, and i mentioned France, UK, China and Russia because all four have Veto power.
And the definition of betrayal is:

And since all Arab countries(even those that we have peace treaties with) hate us and want us to be destroyed even though they can`t do it themselves, would be an act of betrayal.

Yes i can see you are Iranian, But i`ll help you set the record straight. Gaza bombings, because since 2005 Hamas sent multiple Thousand Rockets on civilians, and they told Newspapers that they hoped to kill as many innocent civilians as possible because they cannot attack Israeli Army head on. Bombing Lebanon (i think you are referring to the second Lebanese war) was because Hizbullah Kidnapped 2 of our soldiers and later killed them both during the war.
A recent poll from January 2011 Showed that over 50% Arabs would rather stay Under Israeli control in Jerusalem than to move to Palestinian Authority control and most arab villages refuse to be part of a future Palestinian state.
And about the so called Humanitarians, many videos were put on News sites about these people claiming their life goals were to become Shahids and Kill as many Israelis as possible before they die, they attacked our soldiers mercilessly(i believe there are enough youtube videos of the incident that shows this) and nearly killed few of them. They were and are animals, my deepest regret is that our soldiers showed restraint and didn`t kill each and every one of those men that attacked them.
And yes i agree, Israeli Diplomacy is very poor in Europe and Arab Media and Anti-Israel Sites put hatred in European hearts for the Israelis and Sympathy for the Palestinians.
And contrary to the current US president, The entire US Congress has very deep bonds with Israel, and they were the ones that pressured the US to Veto, and if you didn`t know The congress was elected by the people, just few months ago.
And lastly but not least, i do not hate Arabs, Arabs hate us. And i`ll be damned if i don`t do my best to show people what they truly are, animals.Animals that are taught to hate from a very young age, and then they pass this hatred to their young, and so on and so on.
