China Military Buildup Shifts Balance of Power in Asia in Beijing’s Favor

1950's China barely had enough rifles to arm our soldiers, yet we still pushed the USA + 16 of her allies combined into the longest retreat in American military history.

1950's China didn't have "Carrier killer" ballistic missiles either, i.e. the DF-21D which is the very first Anti-ship Ballistic Missile platform in the world.

Read this:

Our DF-21D are designed to kill a carrier with one hit, from thousands of kilometers away.

And we can afford over a thousand of those for each carrier.

And we have the largest manufacturing base in the world. It will always be cheaper and faster to build DF-21D compared to carriers, which are enormously expensive and take years to build.

And soon we will be augmenting our DF-21D with HGV technology, which will massively increase their already huge range to strike halfway across the world. As well as making them nearly impossible to intercept.
I highly welcome you to mess your military prowess with the United States. Stop bullying weaker and smaller opponents. Fight against someone of your size.

We did already.

We seized the Scarborough shoal in 2012, despite America having a "mutual defense treaty" with the Philippines.

They had a chance to uphold their mutual defense treaty, but they chose to abandon it.

Same as what is happening in Ukraine now, or Georgia before that.

And also, who do you think wins, when America abandons their mutual defence treaty to the Philippines, or lets Crimea become annexed into Russia?

China gains Scarborough shoal (2012) and Russia gains Crimea (2014). Both these countries gained territory, both won.

But America also wins, because countries like the Ukraine and the Philippines become utterly dependent on America, to the point where they won't even dare to set a toe across the American line, in which case the US might really leave them.

So Russia, China, America all win. The losers are the countries like Ukraine and the Philippines who tried to play big power politics. (Or Vietnam who lost Xisha islands).

the US defense treaty with the Philippines does not cover the south china sea.
Ukraine and Georgia do not have any defense treaties at all.

especially, Ukraine did a major strategic mistake by trusting the words of P5 powers. they abandoned nuclear weapons for warm words.

The Pinoys and the Vietcongs shall always remain losers, be it pawns of Big Communist brothers or the Democratic Americans.
They just haven't realize it yet :disagree:

In this case, China (gained territory from both Philippines and Vietnam), Russia (gained territory from Ukraine), and America (gained the desperation of their allies who now utterly depend on them) all won.

The losers are obviously Ukraine, Philippines, Vietnam... since none of them have any belief that they can get any of the above back.

exactly, you can never trust anyone to protect your territories and national interests.
the world is unfair. the big guys enjoy immunity. we have learned our lessons.

The US will continue to bully the weak, China will beat the Vietcongs and the Pinoys to crap for challenging us and Russia will make sure no more NATO advancement near Russian borders. In the meantime Pinoys have already sold their soil to the US and Vietcongs here want to do the same

it is wise for you to seek a peaceful solution with your small brother vietnam. a confrontation or war is not in your interest. don´t make the mistake by assuming we will back down.

you win you lose, we win we lose so is it the game. if I recall you lost 1/3 of your territories, while we increased ours. what matters is the result of the end of the day.

and don't forget they didn't include nor registering their auxiliary ships such as replenishment ships, logistics ships and Hospital ships as their main combatant warship with the prefix of USS
China has plenty of anti-aircrafty carrier missiles, they can take out these US "air-craft carriers" from 5000 km.

One does not simply take out air craft carriers with anti-aircraft cariier missile from 5000 km... Dude smoking sth?

I put an extra zero but the minimum range of DF-21 is 500 KM. It's later versions can strike enemy targets at 1700+ km (has guidance systems). Instead of spending huge money on multiple aircraft carriers, China smartly invests on a cheaper solution, long range missiles.

Exactly.

The big powers have an understanding with each other, that's why America abandoned the Philippines to China in 2012, and abandoned Ukraine and Georgia to Russia in 2008 and 2014.

Or even abandoning South Korea to the constant lethal attacks from North Korea, including sinking a South Korean warship with hundreds of naval personnel on board.

Doesn't matter to them, even if their allies lose territory and lives, America still gains, because it forces those countries to be even more dependent on them.

DUDE, Ballistic missile are set for predetermined course. you can not expect a carrier to stay on its course after detetcting a missile. a carrier just have to move some 100 meters away from target point and thats it. BM are useless for ASW.
They have guidance systems, the missiles can themselves change course and since aircraft carriers are slower, they are much easier to target.
