If BRICS only trade with each other using our own currencies, that could significantly dent the hegemony (and thus buying power) of the dollar, increasing the buying power of our own currencies.

Russia seems the most interested in this, they are already trying to stop using dollars, which is a big deal considering Russia has the largest gas reserves on Earth, and they are also currently the number one oil producer in the world.

Russia and Brazil are two of the most resource-rich countries on Earth, and China and India have the largest number of consumers in the world, whereas South Africa speaks for much of the African continent. This could be a big deal, especially in the coming decades.

The only THORN to India / China relations is the border issue. Once that is resolved, NO turning back for the two countries. I just hope the border issue is resolved once and for all . Too many TALKS have happened over the last 3 decades but nothing to fruition. It is no easy topic but there has to be some give and take - and if that is not possible, accept the current boundaries and get on with it. How many resources are we going to spend on squabbling and show-of-force skirmishes ?

Maybe you can explain to me why 100% of the whining in this thread is from Indian members, not Chinese members?

Our entire national strategy is to become powerful though economic development. We don't have these "secularism" issues that seem to dominate Indian politics. Indians are the ones who oppose Modi the most, just listen to the statements from the CM of West Bengal or Kashmir or anywhere else. They are trying to get Modi arrested, trying to get Modi thrown out of India, trying to get Modi indicted for mass murder, etc.

What does business have to do with trust? You know Japan is one of our largest trading partners?

We are offering to finance 30% of all Indian infrastructure investment, in non-sensitive sectors only. If you don't like it, then reject the offer (like Congress always does) and find investment elsewhere. Business is business, if you don't like it, we will simply have to find somewhere else to invest in.
