There would be multiple systems onboard of a vessel. If this system is being operated to defend a high value ground facility then it can be mounted on a hill etc to give it good altitude and a suitable position for incoming threat engagement.

Can also be used on smaller vehicles, already been used in the past.

this system is meant for police use more or less, it shoots small and slow drones, such as the one a civilian might buy on the internet, with emphasis on low noise as to not disturb whatever event is going on. meaning this is different from those american military systems, of course i have no doubt china has military versions of laser weaponry but this one is not it.
