What's new

China has built the world's largest navy. Now what's Beijing going to do with it?

Germany was 3 times more powerful than the UK, and the UK won the war.

Fallacy. Britain had far more territory and population compared to Germany, a far more powerful industrial base, far more warships. In fact, the British empire was the biggest and most powerful empire the world had ever seen.
PLAN is still mostly diesel powered. until China makes the PLAN fully nuclear powered or mostly nuclear powered, it can only challenge the u.s. navy on its own turf, it is not going to be able to take the fight to the american shores accept for a few SSBNs.

Nuclear power only makes sense for submarines. For ships it is better to be diesel powered. More reliable and safer. China is building plenty combat support ships to support long distance missions.

Land forces decided WWI. Germany and UK ended their naval battle at Jutland in a near Draw. The British were highly disappointed.

UK was the weakest land force in Continental Europe among the Triple Entente.

France was larger in France, did more on the Western Front; and Russia was much larger. Russia was partly concerned with Turkey and Austria-Hungary. Though Germany did the most fighting and winning against the Russians. Austria was concerned with Italy and Serbia fronts.

So essentially Germany fought most of the UK, the whole of France and most of Russia. Germany was 3 times more powerful than the UK by these stats. And UK was the weakest of the three vs Germany, in land forces (total UK army was slightly larger than the French army, however, some of those forces never fought Germany). France did more fighting on the Western Front.

The tank and US entry into the war defeated the Western Front. Though the war ended because of the collapse of the Bulgarian Front. Causing a chain reaction of allies suing for peace. Leaving Germany.

A word of caution to China not to get drawn into wars with the US or UK, unless you can take on everybody else, including Russia, with much to spare. And the multiplicity of a US war economy and draft. When China is 5-6 times the US military, maybe then China can have a war.

If Germany stayed out of war, the UK fear was Germany was going to get stronger and stronger. Even so strong that Germany could have won a future war.

The Google translation is incorrect. I mean, whoever believes in the United States was eventually killed by the United States. For example, Saddam believed that the U.S. ambassador would not interfere in his attack on Kuwait. The U.S. female ambassador said, this It's an internal matter of your Arab brothers. There is also Gaddafi, who completely kneeled to the United States, and even has a photo book of the US Secretary of State Ness, stating that it is-my dear. This makes Ness a bit embarrassed. He ended up being tortured and killed by a terrorist organization backed by the United States

Saddam complained to the US about Kuwait stealing Iraqi oil from the southern Rumaila field. The US responded that it's a bilateral issue between Iraq and Kuwait, if Saddam interpreted this as a green light to invade Kuwait then he deserved his plight. Gaddafi never "kneeled" to the US - until his dying day.

Well, we all know it was Wonder Woman who beat the Krauts.

For power projection at long distances, SSN are required. SSKs are for nearby core interest defense and regional missions.
