This is not our controversy. We have no opinion on this matter. Fact is we want to have good relations with both Myanmar and Bangladesh. Myanmar is a mixed bag for China at the moment because there are frictions over their northern ethnic minority groups spilling into China. Bangladesh is also a mixed bag because (as South Asian folks know) some Bangladeshis are pro-Indian and some are anti-Indian.

@ I think, China is no more with us. It all started once we stopped the construction of deep sea port near MoheshKhal (Chittagong)with Chinese help and gave a green signal to India to construct the same some where in Kua Kata.

we can't give up Chinese friendship just because the re supporting Myanmar . in fact many development project are going on with Chinese help . we have to balance our relation ship with west too giving china sea building facilities would damage our relationship with west. but i don;t think India can build he sea port alone we may trry to take help of both to balance equation .

BD does not need help to build its own port. How did we build our port in Chittagong? Did anybody helped 1000 years ago?
Its only the plunderer who wants to loot billions through projects are proposing foreign govt to build our port. I am sure a lot of BD companies will be more than happy to build the port through PPP

We can start small and then expand as we go and demand rises.

You do what you need to do against Myanmar. We don't really like them either. But you should not leverage the West in this. The West is looking to undermine China with this issue. Involving them would upset China and Russia.

ok here is the clearance, First BD wanted to reward China but problem was that Chinese govt. wanted full control of the port which BD opposed, i am sure china would do same thing if another country asked same thing. Later BD reward similar project to Japan only because BD will have full control of its port. On the other hand, another deep sea port is under construction whose parts are rewarded to different countries like China, India, Dutch etc. Now do the math.
Another thing keep it mind that we offered you more favorable business condition than Burma.
