China is a level headed country and China's foregin policy and rhetorics are always very mild which is very consistent for decades, be them to US, India or EU. We are not an emotional bunch constantly throwing a tantrum.

We'll see what future results play out for those two distinct mentalities of the east and the west. Being level headed and thinking before speaking is a strength in our culture, not a weakness.
