China Commissioned Its 7th Aegis Destroyer

Very light design. Displacement of only 7k tonnes. More so a heavy frigate than a destroyer.

Compare that to the Kongos (9,0 - 9,5 k tonnes) or Atagos (10,0 tonnes).

It has the Aegis-like capability.

On the other hand, the Kidd class is even bigger than the Arleigh Burke class. However, it cannot be considered as an Aegis destroyer.

Aegis like is not equal to Aegis system. Period.

It is like saying J-20 is the same as F-22. LOL.

Akizuki is a really heavy frigate, since it doesn't possess the full air defense capability.

It is actually more focused on the anti-sub warfare.

All in one . Akizuki's will be fitted with SM-6s -- for our 4 akizukis and additional 4 more on the way.

gimme one source that HQ did the interception like this

done with SM 3 and SM 2

U.S. Aegis system zaps cruise, ballistic missile targets in test| Reuters

kid, first be clear that we are talking about Aegis not post 2000 Aegis BMD ``` they are very much different

the HHQ-9 was never designed for intercepting BM so was SM2```

and further more there are only few Arleigh Burkes and Tic has been upgraded to have such capability, so according to your funny assertion there are less than a dozen ships can be qualified as 'aegis' ship as most of them only having 'a' SM2 in their MK-41 VLSs :D

Nope, we got the AESA radar coupled with our Aegis system, while the US navy still relies on the PESA radar.

So it cannot be considered as stealing as it is superior to the original.

But he admitted to cyber hacking, now you're saying it is not through this?

With only 32 cells, it is not economic to fit with the SM-6 missiles.

SM-6s are high precision; compared to other more inferior versions of other navies.

32 is enough. :)

Yeah, not all US Aegis DDGs have been upgraded with the BM interception capability.
