China beats India in every way, finds report

My comment not base on opinion but facts India will never pass China on any metric of developedment.

China - 100% electricity. Achieved 2015. GDP = $11T.
India - 100% electricity. Achieved 2018. GDP = $2.5T.

Already beaten in one metric.

.
IMHO, comparing China and Malaysia is more suitable than comparing China and India. Both of China and Malaysia has USD 10000 GDP, >0,700 HDI, although in some aspects China is ahead of Malaysia (Technology, Military, etc).

http://www.businessinsider.com/heres-how-asian-countries-measure-up-against-the-us-2018-5?amp;utm_medium=referral&utm_source=quora&utm_medium=referral

  • The Asian Power Index measures country's on the continent versus each other and the US.
  • The index compares macro categories such as economic resources, military capabilities, cultural influence, diplomatic influence, and defense networks.
  • The U.S. leads in five categories, but falls behind China in three — Future Trends, Diplomatic Influence, and Economic Relationships.

Interactive: Comparing Asian Powers to the U.S.
Whether it's the planning and execution of massive infrastructure projects like One Belt, One Road, or the dramatic increase in wealth occurring in the region, it's clear that the economic boom in the East is rapidly expanding Asia's influence on the world stage.

More importantly, this growing economic might is also translating to geopolitical influence - and over time, it could have a paradigm-shifting impact on the balance of power in the world.

HOW TO COMPARE ASIAN POWERS
Today's interactive infographic on the Asia Power Index comes to us from the Lowy Institute, and it introduces a methodology to compare Asian powers using macro categories such as economic resources, military capabilities, cultural influence, diplomatic influence, and defense networks.

Each category is informed by a number of indicators - and there are 114 metrics in total. They include quantifiable numbers from public sources on things like military expenditures, global exports, global investment outflows, number of supercomputers, satellites launched, etc.

Interestingly, all of the data used to score powers in Asia is also contrasted to the United States, which helps give an idea of relative significance.

THE MOST POWERFUL NATIONS
We recommend exploring the interactive piece to get the most out of the data - but here are some meaningful spoilers to start with:

Overall Power
Taking all 114 metrics into consideration puts the U.S. into the #1 spot with a score of 85.0. Right behind are China (75.5), Japan (42.1), India (41.5), Russia (33.3), and then Australia (32.5). The U.S. leads in five categories, but falls behind China in three: Future Trends, Diplomatic Influence, and Economic Relationships.

Economic Resources
In this category, the U.S. and China are neck-and-neck with scores of 91.7 and 91.3 respectively. The next closest Asian powers are well-behind: Japan (32.9), India (26.8), Russia (17.0) and South Korea (17.0).

Military Capability
As expected, the U.S. ranks #1 with 94.6. On the Asian side, we have China (69.9), Russia (61.4), India (48.9), and North Korea (35.8).

Future Trends
This category takes into account future projections on economic growth, military expenditures, and working age population size. Not surprisingly, China ranks #1 here at 83.0. Behind it is the United States (60.0), and India (55.6). Other Asian powers are a ways further down the list, with Indonesia (11.7) and Russia (11.4) being the only other countries with double-digit scores.

4) Defense imports
5) Rapes
6) Trade deficit
7) Farmer Suicides

and many more indicies

Are you sure? Where did you get those statistics?

https://www.chinadialogue.net/artic...rt-to-bring-electricity-to-1-4-billion-people
In 2012, the central government issued a 3-year action plan, “Electricity for All (2013-2015)”, to connect the final 2.73 million people. It succeeded. China declared full electrification in 2015.

https://www.indiatvnews.com/news/in...e-pm-modi-salutes-ddugjy-foot-soldiers-439831
The Modi government has achieved the feet of 100 per cent village electrification before the deadline.

According to the information available on the ministry's website, the government has electrified 597,464 villages, a 100 per cent of those identified in the census.

Paracels and Spratlys belong to Vietnam. After WW2, in San Francisco conference 48/54 nations has against "the return of Paracels and Spratlys to China as they belong to Vietnam for long time. Also in this conference State of Vietnam Prime Minister Tran Quang Huu deliver a speech; " To avoid any possible dispute, we stress that Paracels and Spratlys belong to Vietnam territory as they were before" This statement has been recorded in San Francisco conference record with no objection from any countries including China"
Back to 1945, there was no a country called "Vietnam". Soon after the war ended, French took over the sovereign from Japanese. Which seemed to be supported by US. How could any territory belong to a not existing country? The insignificant Vietnamese guy saying something in the conference means nothing. Everybody can say something. Nobody cares.

Do not try to mislead like your government always does.
Electricity for all population in China and electrification of all villages in india are two totally different concept!

We have achieved electrification for ALL POPULATION in 2015, but you still have 240 million without electricity despite your far less complicated terrain and far smaller territory...

In addition, even for those with electricity, power outage is a daily normal for you, but is almost non-existent here in China!

And you call this a "lead", damn, you are so shameless!

Lol, it's not 240 million. Electricity For All will finish this year.

https://www.livemint.com/Industry/y...s-to-have-electricity-connection-this-ye.html
All Indian households to have electricity connection this year

While the earlier deadline for household electrification was 31 March 2019, it has now been preponed to 31 December 2018

According to the government data, 82% of Indian households have been electrified with seven states of Punjab, Gujarat, Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal achieving 100% household electrification.

So yeah, the year I mentioned still stands. This year, all Indian households will have electricity.

For a country which is 1/3 of our land area and densely populated, fully electrification (basically in your case, install a light bulb, that is it) is not something to be boast of; but given the boastful nature of your politician especially before the upcoming election, what they are claiming is not so credible... And given your daily normal of power outage, we will not consider it as "fully" electrification...

Both countries have similar geography and similar number of villages and India has a lot of insurgencies, so a lot of areas are hostile.

Fact: China accomplished electrification in 2015 as an $11T economy, India in 2018 as a $2.5T economy.

And once you install a light bulb, more will follow. It's all up to the families after that. So you can only imagine how many light bulbs will be installed in the next 10-15 years, when India becomes an $11T economy.

You are joking... Our land area are more than 3 times larger than you. Our terrain range from Tibetan plateau to desserts to rain forest... etc...
And about power outage, even your business establishments rank 15th in the world for power outage, while we are 130th... Power outage is a daily life for you, which is 140 times more frequent than us, just admit it.
You can in no way compare to our fully electrification.

Blah, blah, blah. Most of your population is concentrated in the east. Both countries have pretty much the same conditions. Sell your bridge to someone else.

As for power rankings, dude, your country has power outages even today. Sell your bridge to someone who cares.

Lol... Even there is only one person in the remote village, you have to construct the power grid for it to achieve full electrification, so what the hell does the population distribution even matters??? A matter of fact, our last household to be electrified is one in a remote village in the Qinghai-Tibetan pleatau...
And sure we have power outage somewhere right now, so does any country... But india is notorious for power cut (140 times more frequent than us, also far longer in time duration for sure), and the ranking is from world bank which already shows it clearly... Why it is so difficult for you to admit something soooooooooo obvious...

The number mentioned there is very old, 2014, before Modi. India achieved surplus power only last year. So we are doing fine now.

This is how China was back when it had the same GDP as India's.
