Many figured that It is was unlikely that the US would sit idle and watch itself being overtaken economically by China within the next 10 years.

Regardless of wether it is was a natural occurance or man-made, the US and its allies are already using the pandemic to smear China, depriving it of global support and manufacturing public consent for 'punishing' the Asian giant.

Trump remarked today that there would be consequences if China deliberately let the virus spread.

The question is, under a president like Trump, how likely is it that we could see a military conflict as Trump does everything he can to export his local problems ? What are the potential scenarios that could see such a military conflict arise ? Is a US blockade of China's maritime trade routes likely or even possible?

No happening. The Chinese will smash these retarded racists to bits and they know it.

War with China? You mean WWIII where major countries start throwing ICBM?

I doubt American are that stupid.

Not very likely at all. The man is clearly not fond of military conflicts, as evidenced by his actions around the world, he's been actively pulling his troops out of conflict zones. Got out of Syria after doing a number on ISIS, the Afghan deal, showed extreme restraint against Iran after the downing of a US drone. Fired Bolton, was unhappy with him making statements that greatly upset the DPRK and endangered those talks.

The missile strikes against Syria and assassinating Solemani were mistakes imo. Apart from that, we know of one special operation in Yemen, but then those are not full blown conflicts.

The only potential scenario where we might see military conflict is in case the Chinese down an American aircraft or ship on a FON mission in the SCS or a recon flight in the north east. Then again, what is the likelihood of that happening ?

Would it be stupid for a nation so desperate to cling onto power ?

Non-military measures may not suffice in containing China's rise.

They always used anything as a pretext to do that.

They are just mounting up their efforts to spread propaganda lies everywhere and even sow conflict between their "allies" and "minorites" they themself oppress and China under false flags because the are wounded and anways felt weakness for a while and feel urge to project it outwards and put up a farce to safe face.

Possible, given western regime track record around the world throughout history...but a full blown hot war is not going to happen.

They have insatiable hunger for money and power but what good is it to them when they are 6ft under.

Being second is better than total destruction, US will learn that from UK.

US military action against China is damn near zero. I know the nature of Americans. They don't have the balls to attack anyone who can fire back, let alone a giant like China with nukes.

I think a war is unlikely because China has the upperhand in its backyard if the war was to break out in East Asia. Trump is also not fond of wars, he has hesitated to start a war with Iran, he won't be getting into one with China.

But using this as a pretext to escalate hostilities towards China, try to break existing supply chains and isolate China politically and economically? That's all part of the game plan.

Anybody wants a nuclear Armageddon? If not then pointing at a hypothetical possibility is pointless.

US may use Taiwan, Japan, South East Countries or their Slave dog India but it will never lead from start

How will the US use them to start a military confrontation with the Dominator? These countries are not stupid either.
