Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Khalid Shameem Wynne visited National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) today.

CJCSC was briefed about the ongoing projects and the facilities at the commission. He also visited various research and development facilities and lauded the dedication and efforts of engineers and scientists working at NESCOM for development in diverse fields.

Earlier on arrival CJCSC was received by Chairman NESCOM Muhammad Irfan Burney and was introduced with faculty

Rawalpindi, Jan 3(APP): H.E Mr Suhrab Hossain, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Khalid Shameem Wynne at Joint Staff Headquarters, Chaklala and discussed various matters of mutual interest especially bilateral defence cooperation.

General information. He is an Infanteer:

After his intermediate examination in 1971, he joined the Army, passing out in April 1972 in the 1st Special War Course to join his father's battalion, 20 Punjab Regiment. He graduated from Command and Staff College, Quetta; Führungsakademie der Bundeswehr, Hamburg, Germany; and the National Defence College, Islamabad. He holds a masters degree in War Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University.
[edit] Command appointments

Wynne has held various command, staff and instructional appointments during his military career. He has been a Brigade Major of two Infantry Brigades. He has commanded his own 20th Battalion of the Punjab Regiment (second to none), two Infantry Brigades, including the prestigious 323 Infantry Brigade in Siachen (also known as Siachen Brigade), the 41st Infantry Division in Quetta and the Southern Command (previously XII Corps) in Quetta.

On the academic side, he has held various instructional appointments and remained on the faculty of School of Infantry and Tactics Quetta, Command and Staff College, Quetta and Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul.

Wynne also remained Chief of Staff in a Corps Headquarters and Commandant of the School of Infantry and Tactics in Quetta. He has also served in General Staff directorate, staying as Deputy Chief of General Staff (DCGS) from 2006 to 2007 and then as Chief of General Staff from April 2010 to October 2010.

General Wynne has been an integral part of the planning and execution of the Pakistan Army Exercise Azm-e-Nau.

RAWALPINDI: General Volker Wieker, Chief of Defence Staff German Armed Forces who is on a visit to Pakistan in connection with Pak-German Defence and Security talks called on General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) at Joint Staff Headquarters and exchanged views on evolving regional security situation and other matters of bilateral interest.

CJCSC welcomed General Volker Wieker on his visit to Pakistan and hoped that his visit would further strengthen the relations between Pakistan and Germany in defence fields.


While discussing security environment General Wynne appreciated contributions rendered by German Armed Forces in the efforts to stabilize restive Afghanistan.

The visiting dignitary lauded the efforts of the Armed Forces of Pakistan in dealing with the menace of terrorism and violent extremism and vowed to transform the existing relationship between the two countries into an enduring and mutually beneficial partnership.

Earlier on arrival at Joint Staff Headquarters, a smartly turned out tri services contingent presented guard of honour to the dignitary.
