Rawalpindi - February 10, 2011:
CJCSC General Khalid Shameem Wynne visited SUPARCO on 10 February 2011. General Wynne expressed satisfaction on the progress made by SUPARCO in the field of space technology and directed that SUPARCO achieve self reliance in the field of Space technology in line with the vision assigned by the Government. During the visit, he was accompanied by Lieutenant General Khalid Ahmed Kidwai (R), DG Strategic Plans Division and other senior officials.
Earlier on his arrival, General Wynne was received by Chairman SUPRACO, Major General Ahmed Bilal. During his visit, CJCSC was given a comprehensive briefing on Pakistans space program and progress on launching of Pakistans communication satellite, PakSat-1R.
He expressed satisfaction on the communication satellite, being developed in collaboration with China and directed that efforts be made to ensure timely launching of the satellite.
During the visit he was shown various development projects being undertaken by SUPARCO and he appreciated the dedicated and relentless efforts of highly trained manpower. He assured that despite financial constraints, all efforts will be made to provide the required funds for completion of these projects of national importance.
