You are forgetting that the geographical location of Chabahar falls within Iran.
if i hypothetically believe you, that Pakistan would block US escape from Afghanistan, although chances are 0.001 % than isn't it better US use Tehran to escape!

It doesnt work like that..US will throw away half of the stuff in Afghanistan or pass on to neighbors of Afghanistan., take a quarter of the remainder and keep it at its sites in GCC(keep an eye on Oman ).only the remaining good and sophisticated stuff they will take back home..US needs a port and it wouldnt be Bandar Abbas as it doesn give the Indian cover needed. plus its far off, Chabahar is a better option.

We should delink politics with investment and businesses. Chahbahar is good for business/strategy.
Iran has every right to criticize our stance. It is not sending fighters in Kashmir, and that is good enough.
It will take a lot of time for us to absorb Kashmir, likely 50 years at least. We will face a lot of criticism till then, and we should develop a thick skin.

This port was built, when General Kiyani blocked transit aid to Afghanistan. Which hurt Indian business and US military supplies, badly.
So this is kind a backup for the situation, when transit to Afghanistan through Pakistan is blocked for good.

India has stalled on big energy projects in Iran, reduced its oil purchases in major ways, hasnt backed up Iran at all during these tough sanctions era and instead has played hard to get with US in order to curry more favors from US. In short, India hasnt done crap for Iran over the past 15 years, if thats fasel, prove otherwise.

2nd of all, INdia cant protect its interests in the Persian Gulf without Iran cosigning that. TOday's India is fake with Iran.
