What's new

Can today's India compare to China around 15 years ago?

Look, you can find the reasons why India performs poorly in HDI for all you want, but these are just excuses at the end of the day. Because India is not an exception; there are definitely underlying reasons for every poor country as to why they are poor.

What you're talking about on infant mortality rate or rural education, you mean these aren't applicable to other developing countries like Myanmar or Cambodia? Other countries have no rural areas? Only India can solve it, or is able to solve it far more efficiently?

"Our IMR is high! That's because of the lack of healthcare facilities in the rural areas! Our government is working improve the accessibility of healthcare facilities in these areas!"

Well duh. You're speaking the obvious. Talking about the reasons and solutions is easy, not only India but every country knows the solutions to their problems. But implementing it effectively and showing actual results, that's the difference. If everything is as easy as you speak, there should be no more poor countries left in this world.

And you continue to talk about the 'future' as if it's sure to happen. Very High HDI, double digit growth etc. That's just plain bragging or wilful ignorance. Tell me again when it happens.
This is the reason why I group SP2012 with Sub-Sahara Africa.
But I am betting on SSA.

Who cares about other countries. I am talking about India and what we are doing to raise standards and the advantages we have in order to do it.

It is being implemented from this year.

India has allocated 100 billion rupees ($1.54 billion) for its ambitious health programme aimed at providing insurance cover for about half the population, Health Minister J.P. Nadda said on Thursday, labelling it the largest such scheme in the world.

Budget 2018 on Healthcare: ‘Modicare’ to cover 4 out of every 10 Indians

Your doubt on "results" are misguided. India's healthcare is very, very good. More than 70% is handled by the private industry and GoI will be funding the healthcare of 500 million Indians.

For local Indians, the cost of private healthcare is about four times greater than the country's public healthcare. About 72 percent of residents of rural areas and 79 percent of residents of urban areas use private healthcare services.

We have developed a very effective model for healthcare called the "hub and spoke" model.
I would definitely read this article if I were you.

The govt's making quality healthcare affordable to all Indians. Something that didn't exist to something with high quality.

And you continue to talk about the 'future' as if it's sure to happen. Very High HDI, double digit growth etc. That's just plain bragging or wilful ignorance. Tell me again when it happens.

That's because you are in denial.

Q1 = 5.7%
Q2 = 6.3%
Q3 = 7.2%

The Q4 results for India will be out in two months. But you can see the trend.

Made up number won't bring any result. India's health index all across board is abysmal.

A pupil got 10 out of 100 in the first exam, and got 11 out of 100 in the second exam, the growth rate is 10%...This is the case for your tiny 2T economy... You messed your economy, and recovered a little bit, and then, you come here to talk about "trend", you are so funny. First reach 10% growth rate before coming here to brag, and make sure your growth rate is not from your vedic math, like your 8+ HDI in 2005 as shown in your government report:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Now you can all feel better. Yeah, there is rape case in China too! :D
Jeez louise this stuff still going on?

Here my Indian friends, have a powerup to use against these CPC orc hordes as you see fit:

I am SHOCKED that you only realize now that rape do happen all over the world including China.
Only the intensity and the extent of its occurrence differ.
It is so rampant in India because the authorities are complicit by harassing the victims and refusal to even register rape cases for those brave enough to report it.

RAPE is one category where INDIA is leagues ahead leading in the world.

Rape happens everywhere. But no country can compare with India in scale and tolerance. So much so that when there is any sexual assault short of penetration, Indians would excuse it as no big deal.

Yeah yeah I get it by now. India will be the only country that will transition into a 0.8 HDI country in 15 years because India is a special country. Who cares about other countries indeed. They are not on India's level not will they transform their society faster.

That's because you are in denial.

You and your extrapolation again. Yeah India will hit double digit in 2 years time. Maybe India's growth rate will hit 30% per year in 5 years time if this trend continues. :lol:

India are masters at extrapolation. Soon, their growth will be 1000% per year. Base on projection. They didn’t earn the nick name SP12 for being humble.

Do you deny that Hong Kong and Singapore are role models to base any city's growth on ?

India should shoot their next Supa Powa movie in HK or Singapore. But having Chinese servants just does not sound as appealing as white servants as Indians are prejudice against East Asians.
Where as Indians worship white people as gods.
